Looks amazing but it's worth noting this is not gameplay, basically just an example of next-gen cutscenes.

I entirely agree with you. they've injected everything the engine's got into this demo but that doesn't mean anything. dev teams are not ususally able to push it to its limits and the examples to prove my word are sniper 2 (CRYENGINE 3) and army of two the devil's cartel (FROSTBITE 2)
they messed up big time !

still ..I admit .. that is gorgeous !

Wicked! But like HR2 already pointed out, sadly none of the studios with a licence will ever reach the same graphical heights, basically like the UE3/CE3 etc. right now.

Fantastic visuals.

If Ps4 can pull that off during gameplay at 1080p 30fps (60 even better) it would be amazing.

The realtime PS4 version of the previous UE4 Elemental demo didn't look wonderful. It looked rough and had lots of slow down, but it's early days. Based on that, PS4 wouldn't be able to pull off this new demo at launch.

That's largely irrelevant. Whether the camera is swooping around or fixed behind a character doesn't make a whole lot of difference.

kojima latest trailer looked like shit to me, because of cutscenes. The real impressive bit was the on-rails gameplay with the horse riding. so yes, impressive even when in gameplay.

Supposedly there is a 60fps version of this video, made available at GDC, but I haven't found it anywhere yet.

I pray for the day that I will never have to see a CG cutscene in a game that looks good ... this sample if it pays that bill makes me happy like a pig in shit if they can pull of in game cut scenes like this without switching to CG or cuts in gameplay

That's because this is showing off the high end rendering. This is a PC tech demo, not a console tech demo. It's not showing off next gen hardware, but next gen software.

A) It's a tech demo so don't be a dumb ass and whine just to whine, and B) it looks like a neat world and the main guy looks bad ass.

Looks amazing but then again, unreal engine 3 had amazing looking unreal tournament 3 demos that looked far beyond the actual game. I remember them showing some off a ps3 too back at e3

They are targeting the generic gamer crowd that likes cool men trying to be bad ass but they really just like man on man action... at least its not like before with all the steroids bulkage.

Epic are one of the only developers i know of that have a very set "style" that seems to extend across anything they make, firstperaon, third person, stealth, action...basically giant sterioid dudes, giant sci fi armour with neon lights all over it. Giant chunky guns. You can litterally take any character or enemy from on game and place it in another, and you wouldn't bat an eyelid...I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing tbh...

is this really real-time? im a games artist and i couldnt see any microscopic flaws like graphics or shader flickers, something that exists when you push the boundaries in real-time game graphics. i.e watch dogs, mgs 5 and Deep down.
All previous unreal tech demos have had them as well as panta rhei tech demo.
If its is real time then WOW i take my hats off to them along with my wig.
