Video of Armored Core 4 demo

Video of Armored Core 4 demo

Armored Core 4 demo just arrived on the japanese X360 marketplace, and I made a big fat video out of it. It shows the introduction of the game, as well as three levels. About the game itself, well, I'm not really convinced. The movements and aiming are heavy and imprecise, and it makes the gunfights really hard to master. It is absolutely possible that I missed a big thing about this game, but as far as I'm concerned, I didn't liked it.

Well you're not alone on that part that you didn't like it, I also downloaded the demo and I completely agree with you on everything you said Snoopers, Graphically it looked kinda ok but the gameplay was weird, It was really hard to aim, fly and shoot at the same time, it could have been better if the shooting was with the triggers and the "boosting" with the buttons really

Isnt it possible to reconfigure the controls?

Sadly the default controls for AC4 are so screwed up that everyone who has imported the game from the AC community switches to the default type B at least or picking another right away.

Damake: Yeah, Type B controls maps it like that.

I'm guessing the demo doesn't have control options huh? Sad.

The graphical effects look nice, but everything else looks drab, especially in terms of textures. Still, it plays well from what I hear so I may pick it up.

Wow why is everyone hating on this? The controls are strange but they work. Graphically I like it a lot, although I'd rather have more detail even at the cost of some frames per second (right now its really smooth). I dunno, just playing it for a few minutes I'm really digging the motion and fighting aspects of it.

I thought it was one of the slickest games I've ever played. DEFINITELY the slickest mech game. It captures the feel of anime mech fighting perfectly. You just have to go through the tutorial. I think it plays great! ^_^

i had a quick blast yesterday, the controls seemed hard yeah, and i dont read japanese, so doesnt help! but i might try mapping it to type b and it might be easier to fly and shoot things! it's not quite the slow pace of chromehounds! lol!

About the game

What's up?
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker @KORNdog: Speaking of Spiders, I finished Technomancer yesterday. Fun game but dragged down by WAY too much backtracking and lack of different locations. (19 Hours ago)
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker @KORNdog: I'm not far enough into the game yet but I heard the game world is very interesting and full of great quests with multiple choices. Those kinda things sound great to me. (19 Hours ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog i honestly think they'd do better making something on a smaller scale. like an isometric action RPG. that spiders (developer) could do with going that direction too. (20 Hours ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog @Moonwalker: it just looks like a typical game from them to me. like they bit off more than they can chew and the results are just mediocrity across the board. (20 Hours ago)
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker @KORNdog: the facial animations are bullshit yes, animations in general are passable, combat isn't nearly as bad as I expected though. The world so far has been great, very very nice indeed. (20 Hours ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog @Moonwalker: it still looks all kinda of garbage though. lol (20 Hours ago)
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker tearing was horrible, not to mention loading times. Plus it really doesn't look too bad either. Trees and foliage swaying in the wind, nice lighting. Good job PB. course all the jank is still there :) (20 Hours ago)
