Page 1 2 3 4 >>Pros:
- Combat and speed is the same
- Enma's Fang (new weapon) is AWESOME, a mix of Dabilahro and Dark Dragon Blade from NG1.
- You can now have both regular shuriken and a REAL primary weapon, like the bow and arrow at the same time. You can do combos in the air if you use bow first, shuriken later, very cool.
- Visuals looks terrific, native 720p, runs 60fps *most of the time*
- Ayane is fast and awesome, doesnt have very specific moves...she is more "free" within her attacks, and her kunai are awesome.
- projectiles are UNLIMITED...I dont know about Incendiary Shurikens because they are not in the demo.
- Team Mission is awesome, once you play with a friend (demo is OFFLINE only with Ryu and Ayane playable...yes both can be Ryu :D).
- Red ninjas only shows up on Mentor (I think) and Master Ninja difficulty (once you unlock them). They do NOT spam IS anymore! They throw ONE at you every 10 or so seconds, this was one of the biggest issues on NG2, and they fixed it...atleast from the demo.
Cons:
- *Sometimes* the framerate slows down but its very rare. Before fighting the Buddah it slows down quite much, but then picks up speed again when the enemies are dead and Buddah shows up.
- Screentearing, NG Sigma had it sometimes, this one is no different.
- The loading can be a pain at times.
- Mission Mode levels are based on difficulty. Meaning if you want to play on the hardest difficulty or whatever on a specific level you like, you can't, atleast not in the demo.

"good surprise for NGS2. it's a true 720p (vs 1120x585 on X360) and with MSAA x2. it's better than Sigma 1 (no AA) and the first Action AAA PS3 game in 720p + MSAA + 60fps (DMC use temporal AA not true MSAA)"
I have been playing the game for many hours and I can't wait for the full game to reveal.
The Japanese demo has censored head cutting, now us EU gamers are wishing that it doesn't happen to the EU version, but if that happens I am gonna pre-order the CE from Gamestop US :D
PS. This demo is from a older built, the final built will perform better, according to Cyberevil at NinjaFortress which is very reliable considering he knows people from Tecmo Koei Europe.
Yeah, uncharted 2 footage is in the works...coming soon.
Xion
and the performance technically is much worse than the original NG2 despite that
So far this is a demo, and this could be a 2 or so month old built, and you are comparing it to a final game against NG2.
I am not saying NGS2 might have these magically out, but Cyberevil have played the latest built and he says that this doesn't seem what he played in terms of screen tearing and framerate, it doesnt seem like it, so its uncertain right now.
Hopefully the final game improves on this.
But so far, I have only had 3 places where it slows down but picks up speed in matter of seconds, one is before the buddah and one is if there is alot of ninjas around you and you use Ayane's ninpo to clear them out (which takes 1-2 seconds to pick up speed). The last part is in Tokyo Skyscrape when you birdflip all the way up, in the beginning it slows down but picks the speed up soon enough.
but other than that, extremely smooth game, especially on co-op which surprised me with another character doing cool moves.
Hoping the final games technical issues from the demo gets solved ;)
Hopefully it won't end up like the footage of the private beta I captured that was online for a few hours before Sony asked us to remove it. :/
You can agree or disagree with me all you like, but thats my observation ;)
Yeah, uncharted 2 footage is in the works...coming soon.
I don't remember about screen tearing in NG2, but I seen it like 3-4 times on my +7 hours I have played.
Framerate issue, yes its an issue, but its definitely not worse than NGS2.
I don't like the dash either, the roll was cooler, especially the one handed backflip Hayashi added in NGS.
But there is a reason why there is dash in this one and thats because Ryu doesn't need to roll up again from a dodge while with the dash its fast pace, you are on the move constantly, and not only that but they on PURPOSE made it this way so the enemy can grab/attack you.
For some reason NGS2 gameplay reminds me of NG1 with a bit speed up with NG2 combat.
Its like they added good old school NG remake with a awesome combat, I seriously dont see anything wrong with that.
By the way, the only non-violet mist in this game is on the black cockroaches in Team Mission Mode in the jungle like level. When you slice them up their bodies gets torned apart and green blood splashes out like NG2.
He's sleeping now so I'll make the necessary changes in the text of the news first thing tomorrow. Sorry about all this.
wow...It looks different, Alot of textures look better, some of the ambient lighting has been towned down. But really, the violence here has been towned down too much, and the performance technically is much worse than the original NG2 despite that. This was a golden opportunity to really make something great out of a good game, but Im dissapointed with the result. Alas this is my opinion. to those PS3 owners who have never played it, enjoy
For example, I had thought a game like Arkham Asylum would control like shit judging from videos. When I actually got it in my hands, I felt the actual game and it changed my opinion. Likewise, I had thought Halo 3 looked like ass in videos, but get it on my 55" TV and it looks great.
Guys, I think there might have been a misunderstanding with DjMizuhara. He named his file "First 10 Minutes" so I figured it was the retail version but now I'm wondering if it's not simply the demo.

The US and EU demo is out next week on PSN on thursday.
Atleast in the US demo you can cut off the heads, not like in the JP demo, and hopefully the EU will be like the US, but I doubt it.
I did play it myself, so how about you dont assume next time buddy
Speaking of screen tearing, are you guys playing at upscaled 1080p resolutions? Cause that could definitely be the cause for a lot of it. I own RE5 for the 360, and when I played it upscaled 1080p, the screen tearing became obnoxious (a problem not evident when it was running at 720p).
i can see that they have did so many fixes like
- The camera is awesome, its way better in NGS2, the camera doesn't get stuck behind the wall like in NG2.
- NGS2 is way smoother then NG2 (NG2 had terrible famerate, and screen tearing)
- As for the graphics they are very improved (if you have the both games running side by side its very noticeable that NGS2 has crispier texture and better effects no blur or stuff like that, and its 720p.
- as for the gore, the gore is same as sigma 1 and its has some blood and he also clean his sword after a battle.
your commets here are very rushed and full of negatives, i think what are you trying to do is bash the game because its on the PS3, im not sure but your comments dose not leave room for conversation.
The differences in visuals between NG2 and NGS2.
NGS2 looks much better by far, NG2 looks washed out and blurry compared it.
NGS2 has better colors, sharper look, much more details.
Only thing that I dont like about NGS2 visuals compared to NG2 is the sky.
Look at this image http://www.gameswire.net/pics/147-0028-92575988.jp... in NGS2 is looks bad, but the level of character detail is amazing.
But then I had component on 360 and HDMI on PS3.
But yes, this way of comparison is good enough to seperate the visuals.
But ah well, its all good ;)
Anyway here's some math I did...
NG1 - $50, NGB - $30, NGS - $60, NG2 - $60, NGS2 - $60, Total = $260, not including tax/shipping, DLC, or collector's editions.
That's how much these bastards have got me spending on basically the same two games :(
