Wander is back on Gamersyde

Wander is back on Gamersyde

Still more boring than boredom itself, Wander received an update yesterday which fixed some of the numerous problems the game has been plagued with since release. The main character now runs by default and there is no invisible endurance bar to prevent you from running after a little while. You are now free to run away for as long as you want, though we doubt you'll manage to escape your inevitable doom. The first person view which made it possible to see the world from the perspective of a dwarf Lilliputian has also been deactivated for the moment, so you don't risk breaking your nose when climbing up the jungle stairs. Sadly, all the changes that have been made do not make the game more interesting to play, and even having Davton join me for this new batch of videos didn't prevent us from dosing off as we were flying towards the floating island. The 10 minutes it took to get there as griffins seemed like forever, as you can see in our second video below. On the bright side, the griffins look quite impressive, but maybe by the time the developers were done with them, they didn't have time to build a real game around them. We can only hope they will manage to make the overall experience more interesting with future updates.

I don't get it... why would you not just go for a walk instead playing this?

if this was set in some photorealistic surburban world, i'd agree. but the last i checked there were no weird creatures wandering around outside...unless you're on acid. lol

Why no developer other than Crytek ever produceced something of some value with CryEngine ?? It is such a wonderful engine, yet nobody can use it well. So many amazing games could have been done with it, unfortunately I still have to see something really worth to be played....Lichdom, Enemy Front, State of Decay, this....all fails, so sad.

About the game

What's up?
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker @KORNdog: Speaking of Spiders, I finished Technomancer yesterday. Fun game but dragged down by WAY too much backtracking and lack of different locations. (15 Hours ago)
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker @KORNdog: I'm not far enough into the game yet but I heard the game world is very interesting and full of great quests with multiple choices. Those kinda things sound great to me. (15 Hours ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog i honestly think they'd do better making something on a smaller scale. like an isometric action RPG. that spiders (developer) could do with going that direction too. (16 Hours ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog @Moonwalker: it just looks like a typical game from them to me. like they bit off more than they can chew and the results are just mediocrity across the board. (16 Hours ago)
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker @KORNdog: the facial animations are bullshit yes, animations in general are passable, combat isn't nearly as bad as I expected though. The world so far has been great, very very nice indeed. (16 Hours ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog @Moonwalker: it still looks all kinda of garbage though. lol (17 Hours ago)
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker tearing was horrible, not to mention loading times. Plus it really doesn't look too bad either. Trees and foliage swaying in the wind, nice lighting. Good job PB. course all the jank is still there :) (17 Hours ago)
