GSY Preview PC PS4 Xbox One

Like many journalists out there, we were able to play a preview version of PREY at Bethesda's and we've brought you back some PC gameplay footage. The full preview is on the French side, but we can't translate it at the moment since it's Driftwood's turn to be sick.

Did it take them this long to come to that realization? :D

I have read many good things about the game but so far I don't see anything that makes it really special.

Good previews of this so far. And lots of comparisons to system shock. Definate buy. Plus its arkane. They do no wrong (as long as they polish their games)

Very weird time to teach you how to crouch slide.

I know they will f*ck up the originals reputation, nothing beats the oldies, this looks like its going to be too futuristic, and screams old engine and not optimized ala fallout 4, but we'll see, might be really good, I still think this should have been a remake with just way better visuals and more campaign.

Graphically the game looks really nice but i see they didn't improve the aliasing unfortunately

That eye needle device made me feel pretty uncomfortable. Imagine that in VR.

Is the original really that well regarded?

not really. it was a lot like duke nukem forever in a lot of ways. stuck in dev hell for about 12 years, and by the time it arrived tons of games had done everything it was doing better already. plus shooters in general had moved in a different direction while it was still doing the "quake 2/doom/ duke nukem" thing.

it did have a certain old school charm about it though, whereas duke nukem forever was just shit to the core. lol

Because we sure don't have enough remakes already. :P

Prey is decent though. Duke 4 is just a horrible, disjointed game. It definitely feels like a Quake-era shooter, but I'm not sure that's a problem. DOOM did the Doom thing pretty well in 2016.

I don't think it's a bad game. Still perfectly playable. Like Singularity, or something. But nothing worth remaking either. And why call this Prey? Because they wasted money acquiring the thing and might as well do *something*, right?

yea, that's pretty much how I remember the small amount I played of it. And the Native Indian the spirit guide stuff was funny.

That is my one issue with the game visually, the aliasing. It is the one glaring issue graphically at times. Other than that, I think the game looks great visually and everything else has me intrigued. I am a bit disappointed that they revealed a pretty significant story spoiler in the opening 15-20 mins of gameplay however. I imagine most players would have liked to experience that for themselves while playing.

I always hate when games show their opening before release so i haven't watched much. It kinda ruins the experience of starting up the game for the first time. Previews should be a few hours into a game

Thank god the subtitles are bigger than Dishonored 2! It sounds like a small issue but it annoyed me so much how tiny they were in D2
