We reviewed Anno 2205

We reviewed Anno 2205

After playing about 20 hours of Anno 2205, we can now share with you its strengths and weaknesses. Check out our verdict and videos inside if the preview footage we posted a few weeks back made you curious to see what the full game would be like.
Note: We don't know why but the sound is very low in the videos. It is obviously not the case when playing.

Verdict

Thanks to the addition of new maps and biomes, along with more dynamic resource management, Anno's sixth outing is both more innovative but also more destabilizing for longtime players. With a more configurable "sand box" here, new players will no doubt enjoy their time taking over the Moon. As for us, after a (relatively) meager twenty hours spent with the game, we have just one desire and that's to go back! Of course, some players may be disappointed by having to move back and forth between different maps in order to manage resources and military. For others, however, there's no need to ask for the moon to have fun in this new episode - it's time to conquer!
On the plus side

+ An immense playground spread across three unique biomes
+ Each biome also offers three maps which can be colonized
+ Management of real-time workflow
+ Management of trade routes
+ Nice to look at

On the down side

- The "special" resources which must be farmed rather than produced
- The side-quests are overly repetitive
- No multiplayer or AI opponents
- No map editor

Anno 2205 - review landscapes
Anno 2205 - review battle

1) " - No multiplayer or AI opponents"

What do you play against? Or is it like SimCity?

2) Does it need Uplay?

Thanks.

1. You're alone on maps you colonize. A bit like Sim City, difficulty is about balancing income, production, people's needs...
2. Yes. Not an issue at all for me. Between BattleNet, Steam, Origin, GoG Galaxy...
