Xbox 360 : Price unveiled

During the Games Convention conference, Microsoft announced that there will be two different bundles when Xbox 360 is released later this year. One will cost $299, while the other will be available for $399. Read more about it inside.

The first and more expensive bundle ($399.99 U.S./€399.99/£279.99) will include:
Xbox 360 console
Hard Drive (20 GB)
Wireless Controller
Faceplate
Headset
Component HD-AV Cable
Xbox Live Silver membership
A bonus Media Remote

While the one at $299.99 U.S./€299.99/£209.99 will include:
Xbox 360 console
Controller (Wired)
Faceplate
Standard AV Cable

i'm fine with everything except 20 dollar face plates, ms can so suck a shit if they want me to spend 20 dollars for a faceplate

Mircosoft should know better. The hard-drive is worthless now. They also lost a buyer, I will not be picking up a 360 now.

MS ...should Just make one version with the HDD for $350...Forget all the dumb crap (the Fluff) most people dont need.......

20GB Hard Drive -----> I want
Wireless Pad -----> Don't need...wired is fine by me
Headset -------> I need .....but can buy seperately
Face Plate -------> Give me a break..why even list this...just fluff to make you think you are geting more..........cant sell a car without the hood

Component HD AV Cable------> don't need yet... can get seperately when i need it
Ethernet Cable ---------> I have $h!t load of those
Xbox 360 Media Remote --------->Dont really need ...can get seperately
Xbox Live Silver membership ------> more fluff ...I already have gold....

Well, since it really has no standard advantages over the competition anymore, i guess it will just boil down to which one has better looking/running games for me. I will have to wait and see on that one though, so probably no 'next-gen' for me this year, other than on my PC

There is no competition as of yet, once the Revolution and PS3 come out there will likly be a price drop, meaning $400+ PS3 and $299 360 with hard-drive.

Doesnt make the slightest bit of difference to me, im still getting the full version, expected it to be £299 and its £279 so thats great

As for people dissapointed the core version doesnt have a hardrive, just read an interview with MS and they say that Xbox games will be optimised for hardrive and if its not then they will still run fine. Even Oblivion which probably you would think needs a hardrive the most, doesnt need it, so theres no panic.

Obviously if you want Backward Compatibility then you need the hardrive, but I think 2 price points is a good idea, as it will make alot more people buy into the Xbox360, even if they later buy a hardrive.

Think about it, how many games used the hardrive to any great effect, Blinx!!! Thats about it, Prince of Persia managed that without using the hardrive.
