Yakuza Ishin PS4

Yakuza Ishin PS4

Known as Ryu ga Gotoku Ishin in Japan, this title was released on the Launch of the PS4 in Japan on February 22nd on both PS4 and PS3. Seeing as this title will probably never see the light of day outside of Japan, I decided to capture some PS4 gameplay footage for you.
Note: The game runs at 1080p at 60fps. Captured at 720p at 60fps.
Update: 3rd video added.

Ryu ga Gotoku Ishin

So desperate for this it's just down right cruel by SEGA. But they are not even releasing the main series here anymore it looks like so bah.

Either learn Japanese or GTFO I guess.

Time to start learning Japanese.

Tried the japanese demo.
It's majestic. Not bringing this overseas is just unbelievable.

Give me 1080p~60fps or give me death (C) =)

Why the f*** would I want a new console if I'm not even getting good games from Japan?! Translation without voice-overs (nobody needs or wants them anyway) shouldn't be that expensive. Don't be cheap and evil SEGA, give it to us goddammit!

Come on, do we really have to rely on kickstarter for every single thing? Sega is already a publisher!

Seems like it's going back and forth between 60-30fps. Gameplay wise I'd also say that the enemies look and act a little too simple compared to other games in it's field. the use of the action cam seems to this game's best strength, and good use of music. soundtrack reminds me of this old game i use to play "soul of the samurai".

I'd love to but I simply can't afford it, I've got another operation coming up in April which I have to cover.

Looks booring. Even on PS4 it looks strange. The fighting is out there, and the movements on the characters looking kinda...old..

The hero is running like and old Sega-hero and when he push someone the moonwalk in the opposite direction....but hey...that`s just me.

I hate the atmosphere in Yakuza, in Shenmue there's always nice music playing, but in Yakuza most of the time only sound effects, boring, kick out the director and bring Yu Suzuki back.

Everything looks just so mediocre. No next gen graphics here and game dynamics kinda looks like a 90 fighter game.
Commented on 2014-02-25 19:39:49
Next-Gen, lol

I'd take subtitles for games with story elements from any territory.

Compared to the previous games..there seems to be little improvement gameplay-wise. No real change in the mechanics or whatsoever. Shame, but to be expected.

wow all this debate about framerate and localization to US not buying the previous games in enough copies that sends a message to SEGA that for them its not worth localizing a game when people will just wait until a preowned copy is available.

Its a shame...Import this game, buy it, show your support and show that guy what that wooden beam looks like up close, real close...oops smashed ya face in.

Yeah, this game is basically a PS3 game with better textures and a higher poly count. Nothing to wright home about and I certainly wouldn't call it "Next-Gen".

Games like this are made to lauch console dates to help, HELP boost sales and give a gamer something to play...keeping in mind that big games like these take 2 to 3 years to only hurt yourself and the future of videogaming by not realizing that.

I realize that...but I'm certainly not hurting the future of video games as I spent the 80 US dollars to play it. I'm totally entitled to my opinion that this game is an up-scaled PS3 game, with higher rez textures and a better poly count.
Commented on 2014-02-28 02:04:21
Well you are right that its an up-scaled PS3 game...then again both Ninja Gaiden games were up-scaled XBox 1 games too.

It technically is "next-gen" or "current-gen" however mainly because the PS3 as it stands cannot do that higher rez textures and better poly count...

Not to mention that despite the "upgrade in hardware" both PS4 and Xbone are not really the expected technological upgrade and it still takes time to make these games.

The first Yakuza or Ryu Go Gotoku on PS3 came out a while after PS3 had been in retail market...SEGA's devs were no doubt working round the clock to get Kenzan! out but it took a while to develop.

This game is more an "early adopter pleaser" and that is very important as the current gen is no longer having backwards compatibility anymore.

Like I am not saying you are not entitled to your opinion or that your opinion will hurt sales but the problem with being overly critical of a launch game can lead to other people simply going along with believing and not really supporting the launch consoles...imagine if everyone took a wait and see and till prices dropped would hurt the development of future games...not defending game devs but at least they put something for people to buy an play to tide them over.

Honestly the days of PS1 to PS2 graphical leaps are over to the naked eye.

Resolution in pixel eats up a lot of computing cycles in GPU and CPU as well as ram which had both Microsoft and Sony waited to released much beefed up 2007 technology based consoles the problems would have been different.

aphex187 I think you're looking too deep into it tbh. You could say every round was the same on previous titles. (4 minutes ago)

GriftGFX Seems to push close games.. but in a way that makes me feel like every round is kinda the same. (48 minutes ago)

GriftGFX They totally misunderstood the issue with kills and tickets. (52 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX The new conquest rules are still weird. I don't like winning "tickets" when my team only has one flag. Doesn't seem right that you can win on "bleed" from behind. (52 minutes ago)
