I know that Vin Diesel said that there is gonna be another movie coming about Riddick and what happens with him and the necromonger army he gained
That was the plan from the beginning, yeah, but abysmal box office numbers and likewise rubbish DVD sales put a stop to the franchise before it really got off the ground.

Me too. Apparently "Coen are back". Sort of lost faith there for a while what with that mediocre at best Clooney/Zeta Jones flick.

I saw Pirates 3 a couple of days ago. Missed it at the theater.

People tell me I should like it more than 2, but I dunno... I love Jack Sparrow and there weren't nearly enough Sparrowisms in the third one. Better story overall than Dead Man's Chest for sure, but the alledged "darkness" wasn't really that dark and ended up pretty much being "devoid of humour"-ness instead. Some people fancy that though, so yeah.

I liked it. The whole trilogy lacks any real substance really. They all got pretty horrible reviews, but I think they hold up better than some of the other movies we've already discussed in this thread :P

Oh I didn't mean to say it wasn't good. I thought it was good, and as a trilogy I reckon it HAD to be the way it is. I'm a huge Buffy fan and that has a period of darkness - most notably the 6th season - that, taken on its own, isn't terribly entertaining if you ask me. On the whole though it was necessary to have it in there because of the events surrounding it, and the tone of the third Pirates movie is obviously likewise brought on by the dire situations depicted.

I agree that they're not "deep" or anything, but they do have more heart than most movies on this scale, and I can honestly say that taken for what they are, they're even great.

It's encouraging that Disney will sort of segway from this over to the Prince of Persia trilogy to provide the same kind of light hearted adventuring. I doubt that'll be able to create a quite as endearing character as Jack Sparrow, but it could definitely capture the same sense of adventure and wonder.

It's weird, I've always been standing like Kate Winslet with my arms stretched out on the forefront of technology and settings for stories, but as of late I find myself longing more and more for eras that have passed. Maybe I'm getting old. :O

All my mates were telling me to go watch 300.

I did. I'm glad.

Absolutely superb action scenes. The visuals are one of the best you'll ever see in a movie. Loved it!

Rescue Dawn on DVD...loved it!

Christian Bale is one my favorite actors. After watching Equilibrium and then Batman Begins and now Rescue Dawn...this guy needs to go with the big stars and get big roles :D

Anyway, gonna watch it again in a few days.

And then I watched POTC At Worlds End, but this time from beginning to end.
Last time I watched we had our relatives here so it was unwatchable with all the talking and shit.

Good movie indeed, but my favorite oneis still the first POTC.

I have yet to watch the latest Harry Potter :P

Yeah The Machinist is awesome. So are Empire of The Sun and American Psycho. I think Bale is an awesome character actor, but I reckon he's a bit lost on big action romps.

Sort of like Cage really.

Luckily there's some humanity to play in Bruce Wayne though, Cage wasn't quite as lucky with the flaming head movie.

Fantastic movie, yet slightly disturbing ...

Watched die hard 4 other night, was very entertaining, Kevin Smith FTW! :D

I agree with bale, but he was a perfect match for batman, rather him than kilmer or clooney lol

I'm gonna watch Spider-Man 3 again tonight. This time without eyes half closed holding my breath.

When I saw it at the theater it was a bit like watching someone juggle porcelain and baby pigs at the same time - it was hard to enjoy it because you feared broken porcelain/pig massacre. I thought it managed without innocent pig life lost though, and now it's like I have that performance taped and I can watch it relaxed.

Um, yeah.

Clooney as Batman, hahaha I laugh at that everytime.
Kilmer wasen't THAT bad, compared to Clooney :S

I don't watch movies that often really, I play games most of the time and am behind the PC going online.

If there is a movie that really reaches my interest like Beowulf, Transformers...etc. I will watch it, but movies that "is okay..." I don't bother, unless its not my kind, which is sci-fi and fantasy type.

Harry Potter OotP DVD.

Not the greatest fan of any of the HP films but have seen them all.

This one though was the equivalent of having a shrinkage spell placed upon my genitals.

I watched The Kingdom yesterday, very awesome movie!

When the scenes got intense and the shooting began, the first thing that came to my mind was COD4!

Hell, even the SFX, the visual of the grenades, RPG, bullet holes...etc. was the same as COD4 :P

Anyway, movie was great...after that I played some COD4 :P

Today I am going to theaters to watch Beowulf.
