As speculation flies as to what features and story this game will have, i'll start this thread and update it as any new tipbits come in, Halo the Fall Of Reach was one of my fav books in the Halo univers and i hope and prey this game does it justice.

It was easy to figure out who they all were.

I forget, which one of those crazy mofos went fist to fist with 2 covenant hunters again near the entrance to the shield world?

I'm extremely excited about this game. One of the bigger announcements at E3. I thought Halo 3 looked great when it came out and I enjoyed it greatly, but I'm stunned we are still waiting on a Halo title fully designed around the 360's capabilities. Then again, I believe it was leaked well before even the Halo 3 reveal that there was a Halo game in development that would be a prequel and not a direct sequel. I guess they were talking about Reach, or perhaps just speculating.

Yea the Reach book was amazing. I can't wait to play this thing. It sure as hell better not be on the same engine as Halo 3 and ODST, but I assume it isn't.

To tell the truth when i heard that Bungie was doing Reach my heart sank a little as after reading that book i thought that it would be perfect for a AAA RPG (Cough Bioware..), but i am hearing on the grape vine that this is the rumoured gritty squad based game that was talked about awhile ago so my interest has peaked and i look forward to hearing some solid details on this title.

When i saw the image showing the silhouettes of the spartans i had a tear, halo reach was a great book, and if bungie pours their heart into this, it will make up for halo 3 shortcomings.

If it's just going to be 'more of the same' in terms of what Halo 3 was offering, you can count me out.

I'm hoping for something a bit different in the Halo universe.

I would totally not mind another Halo 3 in terms of what the make up of the game is, just hit it out of the damn park and make sure it's a game that is visually worthy of the 360's capabilities. Make the damn game epic. Pack it full of whoa wtf moments. Over dramatize an epic action scene if you have to. Immerse the player.

The announcement trailer seemed as if it packed more excitement in just that short time frame than the entirety of Halo 3. Probably exaggerating, but they need to come on with the come on with Reach. Don't even get me started on that amazing tv commercial that first showed us the bubble shield. How about they bring those same cool production values to the actual game, even if they can't bring the graphics.

Even if the action scene doesn't live up to the in-game cinematic that preceded it who cares just make sure you shock and awe the player. Yea, delgado, it would be my dream to see Bioware make a Halo RPG influenced from the work they've done on Mass Effect.

I don't think it's robbery cause ODST certainly is more of a game for the fans of Bungie, so the fans get to play the Beta. There is nothing wrong with that.

What IS wrong however is placing a huge price tag on something that is essentially not a full game. And THEN promoting it with the upcoming Beta.

Honestly I'm a fan of Bungie. I played their games so much I got very good at it. It's the game series I spent most of my time on when I played games. So I have every reason to ask why the hell they are milking it like that? The fact there are 5 spartans, each with different abilities, indicates quasi-classes. As Halo 3 ha 4 player coop it isn't a stretch that we could see the ODST interface and a team-squad shooter in the Halo universe. What isn't to like about that?

I wouldn't go so far as to suggest it is class based based on that picture, but it just so happens that those spartans have their specialties. Blue Team did a number of things together so I suppose it is possible that this game could be a squad shooter.

As a matter of fact... I'm now HOPING it's a squad based shooter primarily because I love when I'm reading the books they point out the symbollic spartan gestures that they've accepeted an order by some blue light blinking on inside the helmet to suggest a "roger that". I'd love to see that played up in a Halo title.

I mean remember what master chief did in halo 1 by playing that vid through his helmet? Give us more helmet related awesome in-game man.

It would also be pretty damn nice if they thought of some creative way to give us a Iron Man style in helmet read out or analysis on the things in our surroundings when we feel like activating it. Sorta like what is on display in ODST in very low light situations, only something that looks infinitely more cool.

Showing information on a gun, or on a specific enemy type or on a specific vehicle. Or to spot signs of foot prints that can't be spotted through normal means. That would be so awesome.

Go 27 seconds into this heavy rain video. We NEED something like this in Halo. It's almost ridiculous we haven't had this in earlier titles. I say they go the extra mile and give us crap like this.

Hope they get better at storytelling.. if theres another crappy cliff hanger ending I'm calling it quits with halo games.

The Halo universe is fantastic and well thought-out, but the stories they've told (in the games) are pretty craptastic if you ask me.

i don't think it will support natal, i dont see a FPS working well with it... but who knows, it would certainly be interesting.

Natal would be absolutely epic for some kind of interaction with Cortana. And if they use Natal for other things they need to do so within reason. Like it shouldn't be a significant aspect. Oh well I guess it depends on what they do with it.

Shane Kim has said all MGS studios are working with Natal in a recent interview. I can't see Bungie fitting in something where it shouldn't go mind. If they use it in the right places there may be some interesting applications of the tech.

LOL. Why would anyone possibly think this? Reach takes place before Halo 1, 2 and 3. The very fact that Bungie would even mention the planet that Master Chief is drifting towards suggests to me that Halo 4 is probably also in secret development.

The planet he was heading to is Onyx aka the Shield World. I assume we'll play from multiple perspectives in Reach. Perhaps a human before we transition to a Spartan. We'll probably also play from the perspective of the other spartans like kelly or fred.

I think you need to take a trip to the Bungie Reach forums as one of the biggest threads is all about the end of Halo3 and how the strongest theory is that the rift in space that cut the ship in half threw the chief back into the Reach timeline? i know crazy but the thread has been labled a hot topic by the mods, so who the hell knows????

I'm actually starting to think there's a high possibility that that could be what truly took place.

It would truly end up making this a Halo 4, but what would be the consequences of the chief going back to the days of Reach? What about the Spartans stuck on the Shield World? What about the Chief potentially running into himself? What could he really do to change the outcome of Reach.

Would the real Master Chief be forever lost to a different time? The Chief would have advanced knowledge of the Halos and just how awesome would it be for us to return to the planet that hosted the very first Halo the Chief ever set foot on? It would be nice to see a Halo 1, Halo Reach comparison of that very planet :)

I also wonder if Bungie is playing a little trick on it's fans by naming this thing Halo Reach?

I don't mean to say that the events of Reach won't receive any attention, but what if Cortana, through what she experienced at the end of Halo 2 and throughout Halo 3, had managed to gain some pretty advanced technological and historical knowledge that could be used to help the Chief arrive at specific points in history in hopes of changing certain aspects in history that will have a direct impact on the present day world?

Or maybe I'm way too far out of the realm of possibility right now. :)

Maybe Reach could be referring to more than just an important time in Chief's and the UNSC's history, but also a major new component of the story and progression of that story.
