2008-12-03 20:11:05 Awesome game. Very kindness fairy tale, deep social roleplaying and awesome freeplay and combat system. Everything I want for next gen rpg. --- |

2008-12-03 21:15:01 In reply to ACEfromRussia (2008-12-03 20:11:05) Mediocre game. Shallow social role playing, the same repetitive side quests to do over and over again, the WORST loot system ever in an rpg, and probably the worst ending I've ever experience in a recent game(yeah...it pissed me off more than Halo 2's). --- |

2008-12-03 22:29:54 In reply to Optimusv2 (2008-12-03 20:04:30) Posted by Optimusv2 The items my dog has found haven't been useless. I've used things to teach him how to become a better tracker. The dog has also been very useful in a number of other ways by warning me about danger up ahead. There is a part in a cave that, had it not been for the dog, I wouldn't have immediately found the path forward. He was leading -- showing me where to go. --- |

2009-04-12 00:40:22 So, I finally managed to play this bad boy over the past two weeks or so and I have to say this was a truly special experience. I loved the ending and the way we had to choose - I loved that little dog and I had to pick him :) --- |

2009-04-12 02:53:31 I've only just started it and I'm warming to it aswell. I really liked the setup at the beginning with your sister and everything, I though that was very touching, but was later taken aback by how disappointingly familiar it felt. I dunno if I'm just getting into the Fable groove again or if it's getting better, but I'm starting to really like it. --- |

2009-04-16 01:42:24 Aaarrrrggghhhhhh. The game just froze and robbed me of approx 6 hours of gameplay. Brilliant. :( --- |

2009-04-17 00:17:45 Well, the game is the length you spend with it really. If you rush through it, it's short, but if you mess around with stuff you can spend ages with it. --- |

2009-04-17 00:23:07 Simon: If fable 2 is as long as you make it then that rule applies to every game ever made. Fable 2 has a pathetic amount of content and you'd have to be a retard to think that any of the "social" aspects of the gameplay is worth spending time on :) --- |

2009-04-17 02:15:36 I partially agree, and I will go into which points when I do my inevitable M7 writeup, but at the same time I don't think there's a difference between doing more than you have to in Saints Row 2, GTA4, Oblivion or Fallout 3 and doing more than you have to in this. The difference with Fable is that you have that overall renown thing building and you actually get feedback in quite an impactful way. I think it's oddly compelling, but I could definitely see how it wouldn't be for someone else. --- |

2009-04-17 04:42:36 I still can't find Barnum for the Westcliff Development quest. Any help would be greatly appreciated! There must be something that triggers him to appear. --- |

2009-04-17 06:59:58 False alarm! Turns out I'd already spoken to him and he disappears when you do. I went on the "big trip" and then it turns out I'd already done my part in that whole development scheme. :) --- |

2009-04-19 10:18:49 I've written a short post on Mode-7 that I'd really love some your views on. I would find it very interesting to hear how you feel about those aspects in some detail even. Preferably spoiler free if possible. --- |

2009-04-19 12:04:39 Thanks for the compliments, and thanks for the reply! I'm especially curious about how people feel because like I was talking about in the text, the game in theory has the opportunity to make you feel invested in a way I haven't necessarily thought about in regards to games before. --- |

2009-04-21 20:47:31 In reply to SimonM7 (2009-04-21 19:55:49) Posted by SimonM7 Mode-7 opinion is up if anyone is interested. As I was saying in the intro, giving it some kind of all-encompassing review is impossible, so I fully expect agreement and disagreement. Please sound off here or there if you wanna discuss the game. Fable 2 is a subject that lends itself extremely well to discussion I reckon. I still think it's pretty special, it truly has a personality of its own and I enjoyed it a lot. --- |

2009-04-21 23:34:29 the game simply lacked proper focus and ends up being a collection of average unfinished ideas. |
