The Xbox One will be ancient history by the time it's a consumer product.
From what I've learned from what has started of the Hololens dev community (very humble but ambitious beginnings), Microsoft has ALOT of work left to do with this device. It simply can't be released to consumers in it's current form. It's clear that a tethered Hololens' FOV would be far greater than the portable/wearable prototype that Microsoft is releasing to the dev community. The battery barely lasts two and half hours and that is the major culprit right there.
If Microsoft is willing to sacrifice portability for a large FOV then Hololens becomes alot more affordable. If they stick to the wearable/mobile script, the consumer version of Hololens is much much further away. There's alot of energy hungry processors, sensors and cameras on the device. All of these limit the FOV.
It's will be interesting to see how this plays out because the community behind the device is charged and has alot of really brilliant app concepts in the works.

Mods, stop changing my SIG! I'm going to end up banning you!
After much consideration we have decided to cease development on Fable Legends, and are in discussions with employees about the proposed closure of Lionhead Studios in the UK. Additionally, we will close Press Play Studios in Denmark, and sunset development on Project Knoxville.
These have been tough decisions and we have not made them lightly, nor are they a reflection on these development teams – we are incredibly fortunate to have the talent, creativity and commitment of the people at these studios. The Lionhead Studios team has delighted millions of fans with the Fable series over the past decade. Press Play imbued the industry with a unique creative spirit behind games like Max: The Curse of Brotherhood and Kalimba, which both captured passionate fans. These changes are taking effect as Microsoft Studios continues to focus its investment and development on the games and franchises that fans find most exciting and want to play.
I speak for all of Xbox when I say that despite this news, we remain committed to the development communities in the UK and Europe, and Xbox will continue to support new IP and originality in the games we offer on our platforms, whether they’re AAA blockbusters like Quantum Break from Remedy, adventurous new IPs like Sea of Thieves from Rare, or unique new creations from independent developers like Moon Studios with Ori.
We have nothing but heart-felt thanks for the members of Lionhead and Press Play for their contributions to Xbox and gaming. We are committed to working closely with those affected by today’s news to find them new opportunities at Xbox, or partnering with the broader development community to help place them in jobs elsewhere in the games industry should they desire.

EDIT 2:
Perhaps another studio will present Microsoft with a much more inspiring concept and pick up the franchise for future development. Still it blows that this studio couldn't be put on another 1st party project or it's talent absorbed into the rest of the MGS tent. Even as I acknowledge that the last 3 Fable games (3, Heroes and The Journey) and projects (Milo&Kate and Legends) were pretty bad and Peter Moleneux's pathological hype.................still it's very sad to see them go this way.

Fable was the first game I followed the development of (Project Ego!). Religiously checking in on the forums and analysing every morsel of info. I learned not to do that afterwards. But I still love Fable.
I hope another team gets a crack at it. But I wonder if they could capture the same spirit.
is gloriously incandescent.

It's pretty hard to succeed there when you don't get to release your game though.
All Lionhead had to do was give Fable fans what we had been asking them for since 2011. If they had just given us a decent 4th game with a deep SP campaign they could have shoehorned the Legends cooperative multiplayer in and we would have received it better than just a stand alone FTP title.
And I suppose it's not lost on any of us that Lionhead made a history of NOT giving gamers what they wanted.
