The making of: Oblivion

The making of: Oblivion

Bethesda finally released something new from their mastodontus title, The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. Bethesda aren't really spoiling us with videos, and there's only around 10 secs of ingame material in this one. But you take what you get with Oblivion.

I really wanna try out the new combat system. And of course, the graphics look awesome. this game looks like more of a fantasy life-simulator than a game. Amazing how far videogames have come.

Now we know why the delay happened! They don't want us to play it.
It's obvious that these people love their game, but you've got to let your baby go at some stage.

I want this game already. I just wish I had my 360, which still hasn't come in yet, even though I preoredered in August. Stupid shortage.

This game will keep many of us busy for a while! I'm hoping this also has a lot of hidden achievements.

I think its more likely that people will grow and die of old age before getting all the achievements in this game :)

I actually prefer it this way--I don't care much for the games that make it a cakewalk to get all of it's gamerpoints...I look at a lot of people on my friends list with 1000 points for playing Kong--it seems everyone who has played it and finished it earned 1000 points--what's the reward in that?

Seems a lot of people are making an effort to complete the acheievements for any given game they play--basically just another way of saying, "I achieved 100%".

I like a challenge--make some of them damn near impossible. "#1 in the leaderboards" is a great achievement, for example...sure, 99% of players may not get it--but it actually means something if you did.

This game doesn't even need achievements to get people to play it for loooong periods of time...I expect there will be quite a lot of content to explore.

Sure, you can beat the main quest in Morrowind in what, ~8 minutes? And yet...I put so many hours into that game..crazy.

Firewire: I just can't wait until March...Oblivion + GRAW = one happy gamer...they may be my only two 360 purchases for a while, but they should also both keep me occupied for quite some time. I hope I can get into GRAW the way I'd like to..I'm getting it regardless..Oblivion I know will suck probably hundreds of hours away from me.

Yea I like it to grift i was just making a joke considering how long I know this game will be you are going to have to be EXTREMELY hardcore to get all the achievements.

Which isn't necessarily a bad thing :)

Well i'm intending to get this and GRAW, i know i'm gonna be spending allot of hours in oblivion (i always like to play a rpg with different types of characters and see everything there is in the game world) and as far as GRAW goes i'm gonna be playing that with my clan and i can't wait to have some of the good ol' nights with it like i had with rainbow six on the xbox

I'm glad Bethesda and Redstorm delayed Oblivion and GRAW. Looks like the wait is paying off. GR and Elder Scroll are two very well know franchises should focus on the game and not on making the 360 launch, they made very good decisions. I'll be there when GRAW comes out. Not sure about Oblivion, I am not into 50+ hours RPGs...LOL.

Yep development teams are making alot of good decisions by waiting to release their games.

Its very good news when you constantly hear peter moore saying it doesn't matter how long bungie will have and be developing halo 3 for as long as they want even if it takes 2 years. So as the product they release is one they feel is the best it can be.

Yeah, Microsoft went ahead and took advantage of the holiday season, and that's done and over with.
No need to rush anymore titles.

  • digi_matrix
digi_matrix Paranormal Activity was insane, totally deserves being the most profiting indie film ever made. I saw the original version, not the theatrical one. WAY BETTER! (4 Hours ago)
  • SimonM7
SimonM7 Nope, no such prestige I'm afraid. Just 1½ year of comic making and ICQ channel community on quakenet of all places. :) 2002 doesn't sound far back but it's soon 8 years ago. Time sure does roar past. (10 Hours ago)
  • Megido
Megido Did you make comics and stuff for kong back in the day? The art looks similar :) (11 Hours ago)

  • SimonM7
SimonM7 Thanks :D and yeah I do. M7 was originally a webcomic, and the idea now is to make it a bit of an entertainment blog in general and a webcomic. Only done two strips so far since I rebooted it in may. (12 Hours ago)

alimokrane @SimonM7: Dude That's amazing. Do u draw that stuff ?? (12 Hours ago)
