That was like the most amazing stuff I've seen in months! Bring it on Remedy! :D
that is the single most impreesive thing i have ever seen
im sorry mods but this has to be said
HOLY FUCKING SHITBALLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
also did u see what game pad they were using....hmmmm very nice
thank u manager...thank u so so much
incredible!
Silent Hill has a new rival! :D
The reason I would prefer it if they started out on consoles is because they'd be properly optimized for consoles then. It took ages for Max Payne 1 to spawn a comparable console offspring, and even then it was plagued by load times, slow down and texture downgrade. It's not that games can't be ported beautifully, it's just that they... never are.
Hopefully this game will make proper use of gamepads though, and offer analogue movement instead of "walk - RUN!" like in most PC -> console offerings. (Max Payne couldn't walk at all! Keyboard be damned!)
Of course, if MS' gamepad becomes something of a standard (NOT LIKELY) in Vista gaming, control mechanisms won't have to be held back by the depressingly archaic digital movement of today's PC action games, or the lack of ambition with the ones handling the port. That really remains to be seen, though.
amazing. however, that was shown on a quadcore pc right? i just hope the 360 can handle that with the phisics and all (since the 360 only has 3 core's)
I wonder though, the was playing with a x360 controller is it possible they were running this on a 360 dev kit and Not the Falcon NW PC like they said they were? I mean if you were demoing a PC game why would you use a controller? Just seems odd to me.
That cpu they were using massacres the 360's cpu, but you are correct the 360 is a dedicated gaming machine and it isn't, but that cpu didn't need to be overclocked to be able to beat the 360's cpu is my take on it.
All in all I do believe the 360 can run the game just fine.
Repeat the 360 cpu isn't better than cpu I think.. the 360 cpu has more peak gflops (maybe), but I don't think the 360 cpu beats that.
more then any game before...this cud be the halo 3 for the people who dont like shooters....im still amazed by the footage...
bravo remedy...take ur time with this 1 plzzzzz
plz dont ban me. but i was just wondering why the vid was so blury and low res? I REALLY WANT TO SEE IT! i cant wait for this game. its a total silent hill rip, but thats whats so good about it! must see more!
This is a game for Vista... and Vista isn't exactly resource friendly, so you've got to imagine the processor is already running a lot of background tasks.
I have faith in the 360.
While I know Remedy has many PC fans, I wish they'd just give in and build their games for consoles.
And the 360 version will look good. Promise.
Anyway, thanks for the kind comments :) and happy gaming!

The biggest problem getting this running smoothly on the 360 won't be the CPU but the GPU. The 360 gpu is already pretty far behind current PC gpus (look up the fillrate)
A lot of decent developers are struggling with. (See: MotoGP, Oblivion, Quake IV, Gears of War, Battle for Middle Earth II, etc )
But hopefully we'll see it on a 360 at X06.

Are we gonna be getting Alan Wake branded rubber underwear with the collectors edition? I mean it is going to be uber-scary right?
For a large presentation like this, you would imagine that they would use the best available. (which is what, dual 7900gtx in SLI or X1900GT crossfires?)
Looks great.

The hardware is more than powerful enough to run this game, it's just taking time to exploit it's power. Quite why you mention that the Gears of Wars developers are struggling is a mystery to me.
But can you guys fix that running animation...the game looks AMAZING but as soon as he starts to move it just kills the immersion factor.
This is one of my most anticipated games, so keep up the good work.
