Gamersyde Diaries: Episode 2

Gamersyde Diaries: Episode 2

Gamersyde Diaries: Second! This month the menu is rather varied and each of the major platforms gets some coverage, Motorstorm and Resistance for the PS3, a big focus on Red Steel for the Wii, Call of Duty 3 and Gears of War for the 360, and the icing on the cake we'll put the spotlight on Nervous Brickdown, a lovely DS game developed by a small studio in Paris and that we really wanted to show to the world. Also worth mentioning, the video is now available in WMV format, using the classic WMV9 codec so it should work nicely with Flip4Mac, and a 720p version is on its way. As always we are looking forward to your comments!
Update: 720p WMV version added ! Only available on Bittorent.

A few side notes: We mention that Motorstorm is a launch title. It's of course a "launch window" title, with the japanese version being available in a few weeks in Japan already.

Also important, you'll notice that the framerate in the Gears of War part doesn't look too good. This isn't because of the game, but because on the fps conversion from 30 to 25. As soon as we have some money, we'll buy a NTSC HD camera and this won't be a problem anymore. Let me state this again, Gears of War is a totally smooth game ;)

Yeah sorry about that. The files with the subs included are now linked in the news too.

Just so you guys know, we kinda rushed for the subs, which may explain some faulty English once in a while: Blim put a lot of pressure on me when he asked me to check if everything had been translated correctly ;)

The GoW review shows some later levels.

I still have an open offer for you guys to translate & check your stuff if needed ;)

By the way, great show. Even If I am in total disagreement about red steel. That game sucks. I've played it on my friend's Wii (That sounds weird doesn't it?) and it is just an ugly game, and the game play is totally sucky... Repeatable, very bad acting, and ugly.

Only other comment I have is your music. It rocks, nice choices. Just make sure you don't cut out that harshly after... Lower the music gradually, on my system, my ears buzz after you cut the music ;)

Anyhow nice job!

gasp. I skipped the GoW review but overall very nice. Motorstorm looked like a very nice title though I haven't followed ps3 lauch&games at all.. Hopefully both consoles do well and they both reach the "nexter" (sony ad ;) generation.

Is that Nervious Breakout game coming to the states. I really liked it from the video. I never knew those types of games exsisted. I really like how it's crazy and how the themes for each level is.

That I don't even remember ^^ I must have rushed through the script way too fast ;) But anyway the blame's on Blim or Snoop, can't be me, I'm innocent :D

Unless I just let my guard down and... OMG, I'm responsible, kill me now ;)

The 'faults' labeled on Gears are more of direct opinions than general problems with the game. For instance it was said that a fault of the game was the grenades, and that they sucked. They were only useful for turrets or guys behind corners. That's not really true, just don't hold the aim and throw it quickly and it works just like any other game, the only difference is that there is the nice aiming arc so you can't really miss if you actually try.. unlike other games where it's almost impossible to judge power etc.

Eh, just came off as you guys were saying that was the games fault you didn't like something, when it's more of your opinion. Now I probably sound like an ass...

I love you guys, keep up the good work you frenchies! :)

We couldn't provide any info about the release of the game, or even the publisher, because they're dealing it right now, and it could have been a problem to unveil it before everything is signed and done for good. But I can assure you the game is gonna come in the US (they'll work with a big publisher, so don't worry).
