Quite a lot of people have contacted us to get more videos of Lost Odyssey, and as promised here they are. The first one available now shows the direct continuation of the previous one, with at least 2 more to come, including the first boss.
Update: First boss fight video added.
Update 2: More exploration, and even a bit of sneaking in this new video. A last video of the game will follow tonight or tomorrow with a very close second boss fight.
Update 5: The final video is back, showing the very close second boss fight, now with sound!

I like what I see, and the story looks awesome, but LMAO @ the voice overs. They're absolutely horrible! Who in their right mind assumes we want to hear jo shmo American from down the street coming from a bunch of Asian-looking characters? At the very least, get real Asians with Asian accents to speak English. That would be much better than this crap. And, no. Reading English text with the English voices turned off is not an option for me. That's just dumb.

The only asian looking character in LO is probably Kiam.

However are you telling me an asian person who was born in, hmmm lets say america for instance should speak with an asian accent even though he may not speak an asian language, that just silly.

This game isn't even set in Japan so what does it matter how they sound.

damn that was close.... well fought BLim! :) Seriously though the game looks awesome, only hope they sort out the framerate issues soon, the tearing is horrible in some places. Still, it looks like a truly next gen RPG in every other way. Personally I really like the voice overs. I think they got it spot on for a change (I'm looking at YOU, Rikku. And YOU, Penelo. Oh. And vaan. And tidus...oh geez, only Auron had a cool voice)

I was a little bit scared when IGN said: looks like a High ress PS2 game, but as far as I can tell, The game looks awesome, solid graphics, nice environments, awesome art direction, very detailed characters and nice textures (not the best on Xbox360 for sure but this kind of game don´t need Gears of War textures in my opinion) The voice acting is great, I like a lot Kaim, Jansen and Seth voices, and the voice acting is better than in Blue Dragon, much more natural.
Jollipop said he is 51 hours far on the game and not finished, and with that, I know the game will be between 60, 70 hours for sure. I lke to explore sloooowly all the maps in games like L.O.

Its true the graphics are not mind blowing

But i wish the story is good...thats enough for me

till now i finished eternal sonata - (i didnt like the ending and the final boss is easy)
Blue dragon - (reached the 2nd disk....booooring)

Ist true the game runs using Unreal engine??

If thats true the game should have looked much better

By the way i loooooooooooooooove the battle music

The graphics can be surprising good in places, as with any game the standard fluctuates a bit.

The best looking JRPG out there without a doubt.

If Blue Dragon didn't keep you entertained nor will this I'm guessing.

LOL I actually had more fun with BD than this to be honest.

Sebasrd24 I said a few pages back what i thought of the story, its not great but not bad either, I'm still not finished so don't really have a complete idea of how it ends.

Jollipop, well, I´m not asking about te complete story of course, but if you have played 51 hours, you´ll be able to say if the story is sad, dramatic, epic... You Know what I mean?
I know you said a few pages back the story is not great but not bad, but thanks BTW

Voice acting is probably one of the best I have seen in a JRPG, FF12 and DQ8 being the only other that come to mind really.

I'm Asian, born and bred in my native country. In fact, I've never even been to the western countries. and yet when I speak Engilsh, I have a more or else western accent. I don't speak English like the ones you hear in Chinese movies. It's a little naive to assume that simply because we are non-native speakers that we cannot get the accent straight. :p

That's like assuming all african american's should speak like 50 cent. And all red necks should have a hick accent.

the more i see of this game the more impressed i am. it's not mind blowing technically (though it's no slouch either) but the art design is outstanding

I don't mean to offend anyone. This is what I mean: I'm watching these vids. I see some badass-looking Asian characters, they're about to speak, I'm ready for it, but then I nearly fall off my chair in surprise at what I'm hearing. After something like Mass Effect, this is absolutely unacceptable. Not that they have to sound Asian, but at least like professional voice actors. It sounds like they hired the janitor and his buddies in their studio to do most of the voices. What's up with that? Is that..."normal" for Jrpgs?

hmm.. I'm a bit disappointed ,that in the 2nd boss fight the actual big worms are only there to make the smaller bugs weaker .. If all of those small bugs only used their magic attack instead of that charging thing , they'd absolutely destroy the hero group , so in my opinion the enemies are acting pretty illogical there to give the players a chance to win the fight...

Ofcourse this is not the only JRPG that has moments like that , but still this always leaves a bad after taste in my mouth ,if I see it.

Voice-over for Kaim was made by Wentworth Miller (Scofield from Prison Break) and he really did a great job!

Voice acting is great as far as I heard some dialogs, and the voices works perfectly on main characters, Kaim, Jansen and Seth.
