Discs of Tron was last week announced as this week's game to be released on Xbox Live Arcade, but here is another one. Sierra Online and Southend Interactive launch Commanders: Attack of the Genos, a turn-based strategy game with support for up to 4 players on Xbox Live. The game will cost 800p, and more information and screenshots can be found inside.

Quoting press release:
“Commanders: Attack of the Genos” is a fast-paced turn-based strategy game featuring an art deco look and tongue-in-cheek storyline. The game requires players to devise a masterful tactical battle strategy to both cripple the enemy and defend their territory from genos, a genetically modified super race. Fight alongside a powerful Commander, which serves as a hero unit, in the 15-mission campaign with an arsenal of weapons including missile launchers, bombers and infantry in this turn-based strategy game.

Featuring a 1930’s art deco look and feel, “Commanders: Attack of the Genos” offers two unique endings, two difficulty levels and 15 diverse playable units to keep gamers coming back for more. “Commanders: Attack of the Genos” allows players to either challenge or team up with three friends in battle locally or over Xbox LIVE. The game will be available worldwide (with the exception of Japan and Korea) for 800 Microsoft Points and is rated E10+ by the ESRB.

This looks pretty cool, but I find myself wondering what happened to the 400 Point games, I think I expect more for my 800 points these days (since rez! - even if it was a port)

I really don't get all this. Basically there never was any 'original' gamesfor 400 points, sure, there were some exceptions, but 800 points have always been the main price point for these sort of games. 400 points is most used for old retro crap, and Disc of Tron is heading our way on Wednesday so be sure to pick it up if you really wanna experience 400p priced games.

The 400pts games are pretty much gone since enough people eat up this crappy prices.

Yes quite, 400 pt games have got the reputation as being crappy, so people have avoided releasing games at that price break. 800pts is getting very nearly a standard now.
