New weapons for this game yes .. but not in general also i didnt like the feel of multiplayer on the last game ... felt slow ridged and some what awkward compared to other games COD4,Halo3 etc ... how ever looks pretty polished

CoD4 for me offers the best balance in gameplay between fastpaced arcade gameplay and slowpaced realism.. Halo is to much arcade and sci-fi for me, and R6 is to much realism resulting in to much slow gameplay (camping etc).. CoD4 is a bit like Counterstrike in that sense, the perfect balance.. That's also why it's so popular I think, as it appeals to most FPS gamers whatever gameplay they prefer..

I have to admit though that I haven't really played a R6 game online since the 1st original one on the PC many years ago, but it still looks to me as a camper's game with shooting arround corners from cover etc..

compared to cod4 and halo 3 they shouldnt feel the same rainbow six is a much more realistic game and should go at a slower pace even though people allow others to do it in games like this you shouldnt be able to run through enemies the way you do in the other 2 and when you do do it its a much more satisfying experience and is worth bragging about. plus you'll never get the gunplay in the other two vs the rb6 series. as a fps fanatic this game is heaven. cod4 and halo 3 cant compare.

Actually senator im a fps fanatic and i know what im talking about the console versions are pathetic of this game ive played cs for over 5years not to mention countless fps games this on a console is not fps heaven plz dont make me laugh its clear cod4 is the best fps on a console to date atm closely in 2nd team fortress two.

compairing cod4 and halo3 to rainbow 6 is idiotic

rainbow6 is a sim shooter, thats why 1 shot to the head can kill ya... not so in cod4 and halo3

so asking for it to be fast paced and still be rainbow six is an oxymoron, if it was faster like halo and still the sim way of r6 no one would win ever lol

You obviously haven't played Call Of Duty 4 if you don't think headshots equate to a 1-shot kill.

Rainbow Six has been poor since RB6 3.

They dont, at least with some guns. It takes 2 shots to the head to kill someone with a G36C or G3.

then youre either missing the first, or your connection is poor. the G3 is the gun of my choice, and i get 1-shot kills all the time (without any perks to increase damage)

Their version of the engine hasn't aged well, but I bet we'll be seeing games based on UE3 next gen.COD4 is certainly better, but I wouldn't really call it realistic.

In the end a fps is still a fps. It's life span is short and it's nothing new EVER

Wrong in every way possible. People will be playing COD4 for years. Tons of people still play COD2 on PC--and Counter Strike 1.6 is still the most popular FPS ever (there are hundreds of thousands of people playing it right now). Plenty of FPS games do new things too--but the examples are actually too numerous to pick from.

I've played like 325+ hours of COD4 MP and I can tell you that with many weapons (non-bullshit, aka "hardcore" mode) will not kill someone with one bullet. This includes the M4, the deagle, and plenty of other weapons--and it includes stopping power (and not jugg) which is a 40% increase in bullet damage globally. This is even more pronounced when people are using jugg, which doesn't actually increase your health, but makes you take 75% of normal damage.

Most of these weapons would destroy a persons dome in real life--thank god this is a game.

Hardcore doesn't count. If removing the radar without removing the kill streak modifiers wasn't already enough of an insult--they simply didn't put much thought into the way they scaled up damage. A f'n smoke grenade to the chest will kill you from full health. That's just ridiculous and hardly any more realistic than the vanilla settings. If you want to play a "hardcore" mode, play the PAM mod with the CAL rule set.

I hear everyone on the consoles uses the M4. That's sorta a shame if they're not giving the SMG's love since they dominate the midfield and CQC. Plus the AK-47 rocks beyond belief.

With all that said: COD4 may not be realistic (and it's not)--but realism doesn't equate to balance or fun. COD4 rules. TDM sorta sucks, but S&D is awesome beyond belief. I haven't been able to get into R6 for quite some time but they're obviously completely different approaches to the genre. The only thing they really share in common is the choice of weapons. Call of Duty is a brilliant blend of tactical gameplay and twitch action. Different strokes.

I'm sorta a FFA junky now too. I should get back into COD and back on a team before I miss out on the rest of CAL S1. Fun times.

i loved rainbow 6 vegas, but i never played the single player i only play it for t-hunt. me and 1-3 mates just mowing down terrorists time after time is great and its looks like this one will be better fixing most of the random spawning that the ai likes to do. ie spawning behind you in a corner you already checked and then shooting you in the back lol
