Castle Crashers is completed

Behemoth has just announced that their work on Castle Crashers is done - the game is now shipped away to Microsoft for "at least a couple of months" of testing. The devblog post also states that the game will be the largest storydriven game on Xbox Live Arcade, and as you will see on the pretty images the bears are white.

i assume they've added more characters to choose from, and have not scrapped the 4 element based knights, right? cos that would suck. even if it is the longest story driven game on XBLA...i'm not buying it if its more then 800.

Yes because spending 10 dollars is so much money for a quality game??

Anyone else reminded of Guardian Heroes when they see this game? It looks just as fun to me.

same. while i LOVED old school side scrolling beat-em-ups like streets of rage, double dragon etc, its not a genre that has aged very well for me, with the only thing pulling me back to play the likes of streets of rage in this day and age is nostalgia. im not sure how a new game using those old school gamplay mechanics is going to feel. im definately willing to give it a go tho. its one of the only NEW arcade titles i've liked the look of...i just hope it isnt too pricey.

Most beat'm ups haven't aged well, because they were never very good games. There are plenty of exceptions though. Streets of Rage is better than any if not all of the Konami entries into the genre, but it's still not as good as Capcom's fantastic D&D games, or something like Guardian Heroes. There's no reason that this game can't be compelling just because of the genre that it's set in, so long as it's a good deal deeper than trash like TMNT.

I think I've seen mention (and a screen that suggests as much) of loads of unlockable characters in the past. These are probably a few of those characters.
