Page 1 2 3 4 >>Meat CTF or whatever it was called sounds pretty excellent
This makes me wonder how the SP is though...
Gameplay wise, I know this will rock...gameplay is so satisfying and well balanced. The stop and pop cover is easily the best ever seen in a third person shooter. Can't wait for this one!
They are putting a lot into multiplayer, which I thought was Gear's biggest flaw. This video shows that this isn't GoW 1 with new maps.
I don't know if you can compare graphics when it's games that aren't third person. Dead Space doesn't look that great and Mirrors Edge, no one really knows what that game will look like
Some nice improvements although i'm a little disappointed it's only been bumped up to 5v5. I would have expected 6v6 really. I am however concerned about the netcode for this since the original GOW had terrible nedcode that resulted in some poor online games. I'm hoping they've fixed it and put some work towards removing things like the hosts advantage, especially since they've upped the player count a little. Ideally though they'd just give us some dedicated servers and a decent amount of players in a game, 20 player Gears Of War would be awesome.
Not even sure it's GoW 1.5 anymore... the more I see the more I think it's GoW 1.122A ;)
Wait until you see the video in 720p, is the top of this generation in graphics.
Anyone who has seen the gameplay video of Mirrors Edge knows exactly what it looks like. Dead Space looks fantastic imo, very much underappreciated (it is EA afterall!). Oh, and Dead Space is 3rd person btw. ;)
Dead Space doesn't come close to Gears of War 1, let alone 2
more 1 player in each team doesn't make much of a diference. and they don't get paid to maintain dedicated servers up and running for years.
Yeah, sure...LOL

Looks good, but any chance of getting a high resolution version?
^^ Click 'Download Options' then underneath 'Original Video' =)
I'll pass, thanks
and God bless us...........God bless everyone
<turns away from screen shaking and crying>
and I don't know why people keep talking about the graphics. this is gears. we already know it's amazing. this video exists to show the amazing new gameplay mechanics which puts gears LEAGUES above any other shooter on the market.
nuff said.
Still, I Guess they have a few aces up their sleeves, cause the game won't be released till november and they have to feed the hype. 4 player coop, Halo 3 videos ?
Gears1's framerate was still shacky a few weeks before release, they really have some time to polish the game !
The gameplay video was also 3 minutes long on empty rooftops. I trust a single trailer of a game about as far as I can throw it.
Dead Space doesn't come close to Gears of War 1, let alone 2
Opinions, opinions I guess.
As for this, it's amazing how small additions make a huge difference. Gears 2, from what has been seen so far, hasn't added anything that will revolutionise the genre. Instead, they've tweaked here and there and added a few small additions. However, when all these improvements are brought together, it's astonishing to see how far this game has come compared to the first one.
That's a lesson for a lot of games as well; a game doesn't have to be revolutionary to be a superb game. It's going to be my GOTY, no doubt about that.
It's just like being a recording engineer... you can't look at an engineer's EQ's and say "That's not impressive, so this song sucks." It's the artistic expression within the SONG ITSELF that fully rounds it out to make or break it.
Right now we're seeing some multiplayer levels. It's not an indicator of how far they're going to take the visuals within the single player experience.
I wish people would stop looking on the surface of a game that they haven't plaid and said "Eh the graphics are so-so." So far we haven't seen artistically what they will present us with as we progress through the single player experience. I know some people don't like the general art direction, but still it's bound to have some of those "Wow... that looks incredible" moments when you're sitting infront of your HD tv playing through the game and exploring.

as for the netcode its going to run alot better this time round as the host does no have to run the voice.,,,,,, it works by off loading person to person :)
