Ensemble Studios and Microsoft release four new images of the highly anticipated Halo Wars, RTS based on the universe of Bungie's classic series. Just beautiful.
Loakum Ugh….scratch that previous comment. The upcoming Game of Thrones video game is a F’in mobile phone game. Why can’t they came an open world GoT game, like Witcher 3 or God of War? (> 3 Months ago)

Commented on 2008-07-02 20:59:03Go ahead and get all upity with the guy about a fictional vehicle in a fictional game and how it's just not ergonomically designed correctly for troop transport. I hope you have your tin-foil hat on. Next up: Reasons why the space ship from Star Trek technically isn't designed correctly for interstellar travel. Stay tuned, more at 9:00pm.

Ahh fuck this, and fuck your whole arrogant attitude, you don't want to debate shit, you just want to make fun of people who do. If you really don't like it, your uptight ass doesn't belong here. Whatever I'm done talking to you.
Commented on 2008-07-02 22:05:15I'll discuss the game, here: Let's see... the make-or-break factors of an RTS are: how effective each vehicle/weapon/class of person is, as well as the mechanics of how efficient you can make new soldiers, the balance between the opposing side's equipment, terrain, base placement, etc. Like somebody else said, maybe the Elephant is a spawnpoint to build new soldiers. There's nothing that says that The Elephant is your only resource for transporting troops, and it may not even be your main transport if you want something quicker. Sacrificing speed for functionality, or vice versa, is an INTEGRAL PART of the balance of an RTS. I'm sure there are more choices. As for it "not feeling right" or "looking right" I personally don't care if they give me a giant Volkswagon Doodle-Bug to haul my troops around with, as long as it gets the job done. That's just me, and I'm stating my opinion, which is that I think it's a trivial thing to gripe about. I'm sure not going to get bent out of shape because it looks like a previous vehicle from Halo3. Even if The Elephant ends up driving and handling totally different than Halo3 and they speed it up tremendously, I'm not going to be one of those people that gripes about it not being true to how it handled in Halo3. I think that's stupid, but that's just me.
As such, I stated my opinion, which is that it's retarded to gripe about it.
I understand that it's for the sake of discussion, and my part of the discussion is that it's retarded :P
I'll play the game before I cast judgement. A demo would be nice, and RTS games are pretty easy to release demos for without ruining the rest of the game, so hopefully we'll get one.
Commented on 2008-07-02 22:23:20You know, like, you could've said this in the beginning, that way you wouldn't have sounded like an ass and I didn't have to get pissed...
Im getting too old for this stuff.... :(
(that didn't make any sense)

Commented on 2008-07-03 00:21:00 In reply to n00bzRtehgeyOne thing that is much better: The texture work on the environment. While Halo has some nice looking textures in places, the repeats are fucking ugly from the air.. here we have wonderful textures that go on for miles (well, maybe not miles) without a single repeat. Bravo.

It just shows more detail, and scale, which is what Halo is about.
Commented on 2008-07-03 00:26:55 In reply to GriftGFX<sarcasm> The Elephant moved so slow in Halo3, so that means that it will handle and drive exactly the same in a totally different style (RTS) game also! OMFG the choice of turret placement clearly indicates that it is meant as a base and not to transport troops, so this is utter lip-service to people who played Halo3 because they recognize it! </sarcasm>
Come on, seriously. I swear I've never seen so many whiners in my life. I've been visiting this site for a long long time and have only recently decided to post, but gamers have become the most narcissistic whiney little babies I've ever seen.
At the very least, how about you wait and see how they execute the use of the Elephant in the game, or even better yet, wait to see if that's the ONLY choice of troop-transport that there is before you start whining about it. How can you possibly look at a few screenshots and make the deductions that you're making, honestly?

Commented on 2008-07-03 10:18:37Hate RTS games on consoles.
No buy :( Why cant microsoft just release this on PC too? I mean they already have a windows xp/vista monopoly, so its not like they are loosing out to a competing platform ^_^

So... yhea.
Why would elitists want a RTS based from a console ( that already is better looking than the most awaited PC RTS of the year(s) )?
BTW, every time I see a new batch of Starcraft 2 shots, the game seems more and more downgraded. What's the big idea?... so they can pushing the unit count(zerg rush) to insane levels, or so my dad's pc can run it, too?

Commented on 2008-07-03 18:27:49 In reply to GriftGFXLook @ sacred 2, the console versions have very diferent takes on co-op/multi from the lead PC vers., no one is asking anyone to make a all-round version trying to please all the crowds, and acheiving none.
just a little reality check now and then. you'll find it's healthy.
