PC Xbox 360 PS3

Here comes the second out of the three parts of our Far Cry 2 developer walkthrough, produced during E3 on an Xbox 360 version. The video lasts more than six minutes and captures the methodical destruction of two villages that weren't prepared for so much anger, as well as some wanderings in the superb natural environments of the game.

Looks very good, but the gameplay? Doesn't look that well oiled as BF:BC (just to put in perspective)
Are you serious? I am playing through BF: BC right now and while I am having alot of fun, there are some major issues. One, Bad Company is basically on rails, even though they allow you some buffer space. The destruction is very nice, yet I am still not completely sure that the destruction is real time and not just fracture points like past games. Again, I am having fun with it, but Far Cry 2 seems to take the idea and toss it into a non-linear open environment where everything plays out the way you want it to. Not the way developers tell you to do it.

The idea of the fire propagation is just amazing and adds another great layer to the gameplay. This is the first game beyond Oblivion, that totally oozes next gen. It is my most wanted game for the rest of the year.

That's my main concern. Trust in Ubisoft, I do not. Grass that catches on fire and a neat little compass and map don't necessarily make a great FPS. People seem quite excited about the prospect of an open ended, open world FPS--like it's the only one that exists!

And what makes Oblivion so "next gen" anyway? All of the things that Morrowind already did last generation? Or perhaps it's the shiny new graphics? Yeah, I thought so.. it's the latter. As great of a game as it is, the gameplay really isn't all that revolutionary.

To those of you who say there are some framerate problems, are you just streaming the video or did you actually download it? I streamed it and noticed the video chugs, but downloading it and watched it on Media Player looks extremely smooth to me.
