Wow look very bland like they didn't do any thing new at all. The first motorstorm was OK but I think I'll be skipping out on this one. Because this is basically the first game but with little graphical up grades.
Maybe when it hit the bargain bin (which won't be for a long time) I'll get it for the online part.

I'm always astonished at how some people can judge a game from a seconds long compressed video. Bland and nothing new? Graphics are absolutely gorgeous (as far as the video shows).
Nothing new? What did you expect from this game? Flying motorcycle and transormable buggies?
This video surely doesn't show if the game structure has improved and stuff, but from articles on the net it seems it did.

This video surely doesn't show if the game structure has improved and stuff, but from articles on the net it seems it did.

But he's not trying to be a smartass.
I agree with him completely, how can you judge anything about the game from a video, namely that there's nothing new been added. It's a racing game, it has new vehicles, it has completely new tracks, it has 4 player split screen, it has better graphics, it has more environments. How can you say it has nothing new? It is a completely new game, not just a rehash of Motorstorm with a few new tracks.
The first game rocks, still play it today, ok it isn't perfect but I'm still playing it a year after release and there aren't too many games I can say that about. This I'm sure will be superb, I can't see how it can go wrong, it has a winning formula and is sure to be one of the best games out on the PS3.

Yes this is a free country, that's why i have the same rights as you to say what i think. I wasn't debating your opinion, i was trying to understand how a person can build an opinion with so few elements about something, and i think i did it in a very polite manner. Too bad you lowered the discussion level insulting and then arguing about "**".
Anyway, let's end it here. As for me i have high expectation for this one as i'm a huge fan of the first game.

Nothing new? This game is a huge improvement from the first one.
The gameplay has sped up; the A.I. has been refined so it isn't rubber band, but still very competitive; water and lava have been added to add a new layer of strategy; monster trucks have been added; the bike controls have been changed so the multiple actions (such as taunting & pushing drivers) are each given their own button; split screen has been added; foliage that reacts dynamically to your vehicle has been added (letting the bigger vehicles plow through, while ripping smaller riders from their vehicles); sixaxis controls used to influence crashes has been added; not to mention the complete overhaul of the game's presentation (things like track list, online setup etc.).

it looks nice, but it all looks a bit...mundane, track wise, i dunno if its just me but it seems to lack the "crazy" element that motorstorm has, the huge man-made ramps that keep you airborn for seconds at a time etc. fuel reminds me a little too much of that dakar game only with weather. im sure it'll be good as a racing game, but when i play these types of offroad racers i expect it to be crazy OTT. FUEL looks very "flat", sort of like the offroad events in DiRT....plays well, but lacks that "oomph" you see in games like PURE and motorstorm, where your taking ramps that launch you hundreds of feet in the air

the customisation doesnt interest me at all. the tricks do, something thats lacking in motorstorm. but then motorstorm is more of a crazy 'straight up' racer. PURE is as much about the tricks as it is about the racing. i loved the premis of "tricks = boost, boost = speed" in SSX and PURE keeps it but throws you on a quad bike rather then a snowboard. they're very different games imo. and both are totally worth buying.
