Maybe it's because I know nothing about golf but all these Tiger Wood games look the same to me...And how much can you improve a game mechanic that evolves around moving a stick back and then forward? :/
I don't mean to offend any golf fans, I'm just saying maybe it's not the best idea for a game?
Especially one that comes out every year.
Still, hopefully they add lots of new modes and stuff...Screens look good but then every EA game LOOKS good nowadays.
Golf games can be pretty fun actually, especially the whackoffs like HotShots, but I agree every year the same thing is just another cash in.
It's almost like they admit they didn't get it right the previous ten times.
@masteratt: you're not the only one. There's only so much you can do with a golf simulation. And most of that go into making the game look as real as possible. And with the current console hardware, doubt we'll see a huge improvement anytime soon.
I agree Tiger Woods doesnt change alot from year to year. But 2009 was the best game in the series to date (when the new developer finally had some time to improve stuff) and with a dynamic weather system and new courses i'ill be happy... have been hoping for weather effects:)
although i agree that 'they all look the same', how exacly could they look differant? i mean to be fair on them they are making a realistic golf game, therefore it should look exacly as it does and has done.
i suppose what people could be saying is 'stop making games!! please!!'
maybe they could just do a downloadable 'update' of last years version to save everybody 40£
although if they are making them then people are buying them, so i dont see why they would stop anytime soon. i always picture the devs of games like this having a great time, drinking beers and messing around all day and everyday, then making a few changes before launch and sending a slightly updated version in the nick of time...
Posted by Baleur The crowds look even worse than the thousands of troops in Empire: Total War lol. And there are only 20-30 peeps in the crowd here ^_^
excellent, excellent game and series lol =) one my all time fav series

Even the damn logo is aliased up the ass xD
I can sort of understand a golf game, but not one that is anual. I mean, sure you can improve some tech, but beyond that, not much can really be done. I'm really not sure why people insist on putting out sports games every year, but one where it all revolves around a single guy? Atleast the other stuff gives a new line up, like different Guitar Hero/ Rock Band/whatever the fuck.
Yeah pretty shoddy graphics really for a game that has been on this current generation for a few years now... average to below average outdoor lighting... not much to render. Aliasing. I'm never one to complain about aliasing... usually but this is terrible. I agree they just need to come out with a Tiger Golf game and just update it annually for a couple of years for say 1600 MS points, with newer stats, newer players and a few extra courses. They obviously aren't spending anytime upgrading the graphics engine. For instance NBA 2K9 looks phenomanal, graphically.
terrible looking game, from the sheet of plastic looking "grass" to levitating tiger woods (screen 4) lighting is crap as well. do they do anything with these golf sequels? becasue visually this looks dated as hell.
Agreed. It's not as if the game is having to dedicate all it's processing power to render the fucking ball, is it? When you see games like Fight Night rendering people so well, then you see Tiger-Made-Of-Wood rendered in all of his lazy-ass-EA glory, makes you wonder why we should continue supporting this kind of shit. Maybe they should get the Fight Night team to work on the GFX?
I still think 07 is the definitive version (the only one I considered worth buying anyway).

I am a HUGE TW Golf fan, BUT, I have a suggestion for everyone.
Do some browsing, and check out the graphics for the new Ghostbusters game that will be coming out soon. Nothing emphasizes the point being made here, that graphics have not been improved upon with TW then that game. I chose that game, because the primary focus is on human beings. As is golf.
I'm very very, did I mention very, disappointed in EA for the lack of significant improvement in the area of graphics engine. I don't know this for sure, but it's entirely possible that they have done absolutely nothing with graphics in years. Rather just add content.

Actually reviews died when we all became old enough to realize everything is subjective. (15 minutes ago)

RPG's are always going to be contentious when it comes to reviews. They aren't everyone's cup of tea. As for reviewers, credibility died a long, long time ago as soon as 10/10 scores bacame a norm. (37 minutes ago)

BTW I have 3 guest passes for a PC zero gravity shooter called Shattered Horizon..if anyone here has Windows 7 or Vista (need DX10+) and wants to check the game out, post here (45 minutes ago)

EDGE is well above ripping games a new one though. They don't exactly need to have emo fits to put them on the map. (57 minutes ago)

I agree that i'd rather see honest reviews, but i don't know if 5/10 for dragon age is honest or "look at us ripping this game a new one!". (1 Hour ago)

A load of crap would be a reviews outlet getting in line and copy/pasting the average on metacritic just to ease your mind, Doom. I hope to god people continue "sucking" and being honest. (1 Hour ago)

If I was Tiger Woods. I'd be some pissed off.
