Video PS4

We just received our copy of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes and we haven't had much time to play yet - as proven by the videos inside. Since we didn't want to leave you waiting for too long witout anything to sink your teeth into, here are two examples of what you should never do when you are supposed to stay out of sight. At least, we've proved gunplay has been much improved over the previous episodes. More to come once we've learnt our lesson and we can keep a low profile.
Update 3: Since not much is going on today, we've added a fourth video showing a new Side Ops mission.

Bolide Snake

This game is LOADS of fun! It has a lot of replayability for the main mission, and the Ops missions are great!

MGS V looks good but it is clearly a cross gen game. I am playing Infamous Second Son and frankly I think it looks better than WD in the original reveal. There are a ton of up coming games that also look more impressive (Order, Witcher, Division, AC Unity), we will see how they pan out though....

I can barely play the old MGS games after spending maybe 10 hours with GZ. THis game is light years ahead in terms of fun and replayability. Definitely getting a PS4 for PP

Understatement. It's pathetically short. Wait until it's at least half of what they're asking and it might be worth picking up. Last thing we wanna do is encourage this shit. Otherwise we might get a 45 minute halo or uncharted or assassins creed for £30.

You've been mislead. The main mission is pretty short, about an hour or hour thirty. But there are a few other missions that you can play and the nature of the gameplay makes the game very replayable. I think the issue of length is one of perception. They should have just made the whole thing a collection of short stories from the Metal Gear universe or something.
I think the price is a bit high, but the current gen versions seem fine (360 one had 0 issues for me) and are only 20 bucks. And the gameplay is really solid. It's a great start for MGS5 and I think if you're really into stealth and exploring the same situation from multiple sides, GZ is worth at least $20.
Treat this game like a series of missions instead of "60 hours of core gameplay and then a bunch of side stuff," which just isn't accurate, and the value becomes much more palatable.
But, if all you want is ridiculous MGS stuff, this isn't the game for you. Even if it was 20 hours long, it still wouldn't be. It just doesn't have much of that. It's very much about the gameplay.

Look, you're clearly too young to really have a ton of knowledge on how games are created, especially engines, but let me tell you a little secret. Early generation games are almost always holdovers from past generations, which is done so devs can become familiar with new dev kits and tools before focusing on creating code and assets entirely for the next generation.
Compare, for example, the latest full Assassin's Creed game on new platforms to the recently released target footage of the first "built for next gen from the ground up (or very nearly)" Assassin's Creed. Assuming every game, especially early in the lifecycle, is going to have amazing graphics is a bit silly and ignores how the industry works. MGS is basically a last gen game (where it looks pretty good for what it's running on!) that they put into a higher resolution, improved lighting for, and crunched textures a lot less.
It's not The Division, but for what it's worth I really like the way Ground Zeroes looks, especially on next gen. I've always enjoyed the MGS engines for their love of movement, animation, and more dynamic effects. For a split gen game, I think they did pretty well. Even if it doesn't do anything new from the last generation, just does it all better.

You've been mislead.
I guess all the reviews where mislead too? Come off it. Basically you bought this rip off and now feel compelled to justify it. "Oh, it's super replayable, oh, there really is more content there beyond the main missions". I know what the game is comprised of, and i know how long the average joe takes to run through it. It's greatly overpriced, both previous gen and current. And the "next gen tax" version is just fucking insulting.

Case zero got this sort of thing right...it offered the same sort of "prologue" content (i'd hardly even call ground zero's a prologue) short lived, but gameplay focused, but it only asked for a fraction of what konami are asking. This should have been a £10 PSN release, used to promote and hype the release of phantom pain. It should not have been a £30 retail release. All your doing by buying this is encouraging it. yey...lets pay mpre money for the bare fucking minimum content...no thanks...they can fuck right off.

There is one good thing about it being such a massive rip off though with such pathetic content...it'll be traded in...a lot. Which means in a months time i should be able to pay what it's worth quite easily...used...on ebay...so konami don't get a fucking cent.
