I've just remembered that I had one last video of Gran Turismo 5 from the Tokyo Games Show to put online, showing a rather nice looking replay of the Tokyo track. Here it is!

i still find it hard to beleive its even a replay though cos it looks so good,
always felt bland to me GT series,only one i loved was ASPEC on ps2,hope this is as good and i heard its been put back 2010 is it true?
It looks really good.BUT... the screen tearing is awful!! They better fix this when they release it,beacuse it ruins a lot of the graphic experience.They need to lock it on 60fps like in forza 2,at least in game,and maybe 30 fps in replays with effects on.

So, the way they make the 'Tunnel like paper trees' that give that razor sharp digital shadows (kinda weird, but atleast they try to emulate some cuted and not always solid shadows) is for the purpose of not having the city on the backgroud? Kinda cheap, but a cool trick to spare processing power.

Cars look great as always. But as usual, there's no drama, no sense of speed, no sense of racing. Better cars than a certain other game, but poorer environments. It's like a slow moving cruise through town... the co driver in the rally car is so bored he's fallen asleep. Still a day one purchase, but I expect to be disappointed.

I don't think those trees cast any shadows, the shadows that appear on cars when they pass under them are obviously faked. That's fine, they get the job done, except for people who like to obsess over still shots of both GT5 and that certain other beautiful game.

Hmm you must like wasting money, I wish I had the cash to spend on games that I "expect to disappoint me". Heres and idea, not wishing to insult your intelligence or anything but maybe you should not purchase this game if you dislike it as badly already.

No sense of speed but sense of real life speed. and the really funny part is that you say all those pointless negative stuff, then you cover it with "Still a day one purchase" not so smart at trolling, take a hike kid, you don't now nothing about sim racing games.

Exactly...the sense of speed in GT is unrepentantly realistic and I would not want it any other way. Forza also offers absolutely no advantage over GT in this area as it also keeps the sense of speed realistic, in fact many clueless whiners have already been complaining that Forza also "feels slow"
People should just stick to titles like Burnout for the exaggerated sense of speed as it's not a valid criticism of any racing sim.

i totaly agree with you ishi! at 100% , graphics are stunning, but no ''action'' there inside.
The increasing number of driving simulators is not a bad thing. "I think it's great that the racing game market is getting bigger," said Yamauchi. "It's like if you are a rock fan, you'd like there to be more rock groups. Same idea. That being said, we don't view Gran Turismo as competing with those other titles. We are competing with ourselves."
This is why I love Yamauchi. The guy practically embodies the Japanese humbleness to me. It's so refreshing that when talking to press, he doesn't go on about how much he wants to sell, or how he's tweaking his game to beat anyone. He simply just loves making racing simulators, and it shows every bit in his product.
