The first 10 minutes: Blue Dragon Asia version

The first 10 minutes: Blue Dragon Asia version

I've received my copy of Blue Dragon Asia version a few hours ago, and like a good fan of this excellent game I immediately started recording the beginning. What a pleasure it is to finally exactly understand what's going on thanks to the menus and subtitles in English. This is just the perfect version of the game for me, especially since us Europeans won't have the Japanese voices available. Anyway, I'm thinking about doing a "journal" of my adventures in the game, with new images and videos every few days. So it will be up to you to decide when to stop watching if you don't want to be spoiled too much. As for now, you can safely watch the very first 10 minutes of the game.
Update: Just a day late, here is the second video showing what happens next, with some really strange enemies :)
Update2: Just so you guys forgive me about my tardiness with the second video, here comes the third one where we finally get to see the shadows!
Update3: Because I feel generous today, here comes the fourth part where the shadows finally enter the battle.
Update4: Let's been done with this series of video with the first boss fight!

If you are like me and you hate play games in anything but their original version (be it Japanese or English) and you live and Europe... Tough luck. The European version of Blue Dragon won't have the Japanese language track anymore, so your only solution would be to import this version along with an Asian 360 system. Then you'll even be able to buy the much cheaper Asian versions of the games as they are released ;)
In case you want to import the game: Here is a link to our partner Play-Asia
And for an Asian system (220V): here
110V japanese system: there

The US version will have Japanese voices, but it might not be region free since it will be released quite a bit before the European one most likely.

I hate this, we have games later, without original language, without even my native language. Just those more popular european languages.

Man, it's so unfair:)

All games should be region free.

In fairness nearly all the games published in the UK and US by MS game studios have been region free. I just hope this one is.

I have heard not all Japanese games will work on an Asian 360 BTW, not sure how true this is.

I'm quite happy about the translation in the game so far, I think the English voices will be pretty good anyway, I think the same guy who did FF12 is in charge of translating this and Lost Odyssey.

Wow, it feels so much like Crono Trigger. Though it feels very cheesy.

Any word on when us hairy europeans will get it? "Simultanious release" echoes at the back of my head but I'm fairly sure that was Lost Odyssey. :O

They could do a special EU edition that contains the japanese voices, stripped of the german/french. that would be awesome!

It's expected to be released in September.

This autumn is going to be insane. Never mind the money spent on games, researching ways to make days longer is gonna be where the real expenses go. :O

As for european version without japanese language track, that's almost too typical to even be upset about anymore. Just sigh and feel bits of your soul wither away.. Oh and wish for good voice work on the level of Final Fantasy 12 or Dragon Quest 8.

If only DVDs were the tiniest bit bigger. They can obviously fit up to four languages on there, so room for japanese must be less than a gigabyte away you'd think.

  • Melmoth
Melmoth VR is struggling enough to gain traction as it is. I don't think the different camps gaining exclusive support will help either. (41 minutes ago)
  • Melmoth
Melmoth ResEvil 7 looks like it could be a fun game in VR. Sony moneyhatting the game for 12 months exclusive VR support (like many other games as well). VR is the new arena for exclusivity (44 minutes ago)
