Video PC Xbox 360 PS3 Vita

The FIFA 13 demo was released on Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC yesterday so we prepared a couple of 1080p videos of the PC version for you guys. We haven't had much time to play the game yet, so it's hard to notice all the changes which have been made, but it will certainly take a sharp eye to see them at first glance. Animations are even smoother than before, though there are still some awkwardness when players bump into each other or even when they touch the ball once in a while, but it's safe to say that it's as far as this generation can go in terms of realism and improvements. That being said, this new installment in the series will undoubtedly remain in number one position of the hearts of football fans.

After playing Fifa demo there is no choice. Personally, for the first time in this generation, its PES2013 all the way.

What are you smoking? FIFA 13 is miles ahead of POS2013. Theres no comparison, well there is and FIFA13 is the victor.

Nah, I'm not even a smoker. Maybe I should have used "IMHO", just in case you miss something else.

Agree with Nexus. PES has improved, but it's a dinosaur compared to how polished Fifa now is. Oh, and judging from the PES demo, looks like players with speed outclass everything else. Just hold that run button down and away you go. So much for sim gameplay, eh.

I agree with Nexus and White. PES 2013 is still the worst game. Despite drastically improving this year.

To be honest, after a couple of playthroughs of the demo, I was very worried. I couldn't really tell that much difference between FIFA 13 and last year's title. Very minimal difference.

However, hours of play time later, and this is potentially the best football title ever. The variation and unpredictability, combined with the fluid and smooth nature, makes this a fantastic experience.

Can't wait for the full release!

And let's not talk about PES in the same sentence as FIFA. I used to adore that series back in the day, but it's gotten a joke now. Doesn't deserve to be brought up in the same breath.

Agree, Blmbox. I couldn't feel the difference when I had Messi in the arena. But when the game started, I could feel the changes, but it wasn't a drastic difference or experience. A few games later and things started showing and happening. The AI, for all of PES's boasts about how good it is in their game, blows it out of the water. Seriously, if anything is overhyped, it's PES' AI. Fifa's AI feels human now. It makes errors, players lose the ball through poor control or trying skills, they hold the ball and look for options, attack accordingly, and as such they try to actually score different varieties of goals that I've not seen in a football game before. It's brilliant. The game is such a joy to play now. I often find myself replaying certain things that happen, especially things the CPU AI does, or situations that the new impact engine produces. Really realistic this time. I agree, It's possibly the best football sim there's ever been. All it needs now is drastic differences in tactics between teams and it's almost perfection.

PES gameplay is superior but really it's the only thing going for it. Fifa does EVERYTHING else better......

But im picking up PES for the first time since 2007. PES feels at time very life like the way you build up play and i just cant say the same for Fifa.

Going off the demo's i'd rate PES 13 a 7.5/10 And Fifa 7/10, if Fifa 13 had PES 13 gameplay it would easily be the best football game ever created.

PES gameplay better? Erm...no. How can the gameplay be better if the controls feel stiff and everything else is essentially archaic? Bit of a paradoxical statement, that. You could argue that PES does some things better, but in general, Fifa is just a better game. Oh, and that build up play exists in Fifa also should you choose to build up play that way. Very hard to do in a 3 minute half demo, mind. It's the same argument every year, really. I don't see the point. PES bit the bullet at the start of this gen and has been in a critical state from it.

Core gameplay is far superior. As i said Fifa does everything better bar gameplay. Next year is hopefully when Konami catch up with graphics/sound etc

Just played the demo, well this is the first football game that feels real to me. The ai work like a charm and the player reactions are just great. I will really enjoy this.

Na, still doesn't make any sense. Gameplay is gameplay, and Fifa plays better. PES might have had a better understanding of how football works on the pitch, but it doesn't any more. Not after playing both demos. One is trying to be realistic but is held back by ancient game design and tech, while the other just impresses by just how realistic a game can get with proper physics and control mechanics. You can actually feel the difference in weight and strength in players in Fifa, whereas in PES it's just about how responsive a player handles in comparison to another. Tackling in PES feels like hacking cardboard cut outs if that makes any sense. Same canned animation no matter where you make contact. Very old hat.
