Aren't elites suppose to be the ones that doesn't break down?

If its not true, then whats the point.

I want to play NG2 non stop when it comes out, and I am worried about my fate with this damn thing.

This is an excerpt from the letter that came with my "repaired" console.

"This failing component (motherboard) has now been re-placed and your XBOX game console has been tested extensively (bullshit) using both manual and computer diagnostics. It has passed a rigorous two hour computer generated and monitored final test."

The funny continues here.

"In the unlikely event you encounter further problems with your Xbox console..."

I'm so fucking angry right now. If they had genuinely replaced the motherboard there is no way it would break after a week. They normally last at least a year (which is ridiculous, I know).

EDIT BIG TIME : I just punched the console and it's working. I fucking own MS tech support.

Man finally my launch Xbox died the other day. Couldn't believe it myself since it was holding things up very well. But the other day I turned it on and WTF 3RRLD!!!
The most strange thing it is that the day before I was playing normally and the next day without advise she died, just turning it on. Oh well, I just hope MS learns from now oon that it is a much better bet to make consoles like the first Xbox, wich is like a stone.
I am glad I have an elite so I can still playing till I wait for a new unit.

But one thing I wonder is how come the first Xbox is so freaking strong and didn't die and all?
Couldn't MS just make the way they did with the first Xbox as 360...makes my heart break :(

It has gone 2 weeks and I have still not got it back, and I hope it is soon really. I won't play with my 360 anyways, not until a demo that i am gonna buy is out or NG2 :D

I got my 360 back today, and the problem was its mother board.
They said they tested with computer diagnos...etc. for 2 hours...yeah 2 houors for bullshit.

Anyway, I got it back, and I did not get a replaced one, its my old 360 with new mother board.

Now if I am lucky I hope it holds out until the end of 2008...atleast!

C'mon Gods, give me some luck here!

Mine died yesterday, My 3rd :-(

Did what I've done with the other two and took it back to GAME, who exchanged it on the spot. I now have a HDMI model :)
They really need to get this sorted though. I've never owned an electrical item that been so unreliable. I know a lot of people that are on there 3rd or 4th 360 which is just plain mad..................

Actually, thinking about I could do a lot worse. If this would've happened a month later it would've really sucked and it isn't all that far-fetched either. I should be getting it back within 3 weeks so GTAIV is still happening. If not, hell...I'll just get it for my PS3.

I got a very friendly lad on the phone who asked me to include my power supply when shipping. I guess this means I get the "better" version which demands a different power supply? We'll see.

I also, kindly, demanded a 360 in mint condition, as the previous refurb had some scratches. At the time I couldn't be bothered in going through the whole procedure of sending it back again and I figured I'd most likely would have to send it back again at some point, so...ermm...yeah...nuff said. ;p

All in all, this is getting pretty embarrassing for MS. Almost 2,5 year after launch and this crap still hasn't been fixed, or atleast, the issue's haven't been phased out. Oh well...

Yeah, it sucks Jato.

The 360 we had up and running at our work with the Rock Band set up died the other day. Was pretty funny actually. The two guys that were playing it looked so devastated. If only they had "Another One Bites the Dust" playing over the speakers instead of "Dream on" it would have been perfect.

Yeah, I work at an electronics store in the customer service/lost prevention area. So we get a lot of free time to do stuff like that :p

It's funny because we also have another 360 hooked up in the Customer Service area, with an HD-DVD add on that we use to watch movies or play COD4 while we're working on slow days. I swear, we've left that 360 on for days, and dropped it more times than I can count....and yet it LIVES! It's on of the older models too, so the mind just boggles with that one. If only I could bring it home with me :(

Not bad seeing how often you've used it. I was convinced that pretty much any launch 360 used on a daily basis had passed away. Guess I was wrong then. :)

My PS3 is mostly collecting dust atm as well. Just downloaded the Condemned demo, which is the first time I've turned it on in 2 months or so. Fantastic piece of hardware/design, it just needs some (imo) more interesting exclusives to get me spend some time with it again (plus I'm a COD4 addict as well which I have for the 360). I don't watch all that many movies, but it's nice to have a blu-ray player regardless. :)

Well, I got a 360 back with even more damage and without power supply! The power supply is being sent to me, but I had to inlude a photo of the damage in a mail to some Xbox support division: [img=http://img170.imageshack.us/img170/878/dscn0449wc9.th.jpg]

That's just unacceptable. There are a bunch of scratches on the Xbox as well, but I couldn't get a good image of them. I have sent the email to MS making sure to (kindly) let them know this is

UNACCEPTABLE!
