You're trolling the xbox franchise at the top of that list. You're beyond predictable. You realize how insecure an individual needs to be to do what you're doing currently? It's gotten you to the point where you're now basically implying in a serious way, contrary to evidence and all common sense, that I somehow must not like Halo 4 as much as I say I do because I say I enjoyed Xenoblade more. Never mind the fact that in the post you're referring to, I also point out very clearly that Halo 4 is very much also deserving of GOTY, but admitting that would get in the way of your true intent.

Since when are you not allowed to believe more than one game is deserving of GOTY? It's all opinion. It's not the case that it has to be just one or nothing else is deserving. That's not how it works. There's no right or wrong answer here. If Mass Effect 3 won, I would say it deserves it, too, even if I enjoyed something else more, it still doesn't change what a fantastic game I know Mass Effect 3 to be. You think this is a true competition or something? You think there's something really at stake here? Something to win, something to lose? Why does it seem to bother you so much that Halo 4 is at the top of my list? Why do you care about my list and it's organization? Why do you feel the need to go out of your way to tell me what "most outlets" think, as if that somehow means jack shit in a thread where gamersyde forum posters choose for themselves? First it was that I picked the game that I thought had the best chance of winning, and when you see my list, realizing that I put FF4 the Ipad remake on there in the #2 spot, you're now moving away entirely from the "you picked the one you thought had the best chance of winning" argument. Your issue is and will always be with the game at the top of the list being a first party xbox title. If I had some playstation franchise right at the top of my list, I wouldn't hear a fucking peep out of you. You know it, I know it, and you're horrible at covering it up. But, hey, at least you're actually admitting that your issue is with the xbox franchise at the top of my list, and you've already proven that regardless of the praise I have for Halo 4, that you'll still somehow try to call into question my right to choose it, because you'll always be that fanboy pretending that there are other motivations for doing what you're doing.

you can believe more then one game is deserving of GOTY, i'm not arguing against that. but thae fact you say you enjoyed xenoblade more then halo, should put xenoblade above halo. put halo as #2, as you clarely think it's equally deserving, but you've said yourself you liked xenoblade MORE. if you like something MORE, it usually goes HIGHER in the list, not lower (certainly not 4th?). if you don't see why that makes your list completely irrelivant...then, i don't really know what to say.

There isn't a debate over halo being gamerydes overall GOTY. As i said, i don't really care about that *shrugs*. The debate is over why optimus voted halo #1, when he has said himself that he enjoyed xenoblade more. It would be like me saying uncharted golden abyss was my #1 GOTY, despite thinking dishonored was better. Just doesn't make sense to me. My GOTY list was made in order of preference. I guess optimus's wasn't? Must just be his way of making lists?

All it really does, is tell you the age group and type of people that vote and play these types of games. If anything, it's simply more telling of other things than whether or not a video game wins some fictional bullshit award.

Halo 4 def my 2012 GOTY :)

Let me help you out. It was my preference to not put what is more or less a 2011 game in Xenoblade Chronicles at the very top of my 2012 GOTY list, which is even why Mass Effect 3 and Final Fantasy 4 on the Ipad are above it. I've been playing the EU version of Xenoblade Chronicles since 2011, and have been saying precisely this on the forum since 2011. It's on my 2012 list more or less due to the technicality of it also having a 2012 NA release, and because I think it deserves to be there. It was a game that wasn't even confirmed to have a NA release for the longest. The biggest flaw in your argument is assuming that by my saying I enjoyed Xenoblade more than Halo 4, that this is a sign that I'm somehow ascribing some type of negative to Halo 4, or is in anyway a statement that undoes all the high praise that I've given to Halo 4 on this very forum. Saying that you liked another game more isn't automatically saying something bad about the overall quality of any other game that you played and enjoyed... I thought this would be obvious and something that shouldn't need spelling out, but I guess not.

There are no second class citizens on my list. I love every single game on my list. I don't have anything bad to say about any of them. They're all of amazing quality.It shouldn't even matter what's on my fun little GOTY list. The whole point is that it's suppose to be a fun little exercise that we just take part in, listing games in any order that we choose. Deciding which game goes where on that fun little list is by its nature politics. We make a choice, and then we can even revise our lists to our satisfaction, which more than one person did. It's very much apart of the fun, because we know it doesn't really mean anything. Sometimes you put something at the top you want to see win or compete, or even just to make a statement or draw attention to a particular game. I saw no fun at all in putting Xenoblade at the top of my list, because my simply including it was enough for me. I put another game that I enjoy at the top and that I also thought deserved to win, but I would've been happy with anything on there, even some things that weren't, winning instead. If Halo 4 didn't win, I wouldn't even make a big fuss over it. In fact, I fully expected it to lose so I could make joke accusations of voter irregularities etc. It's meant to be fun, even that dishonorable mentions list that you made was in keeping with this basic principle. It's not some strict scientific exercise where specific rules are suppose to be followed or it doesn't count, or the process is tainted. Personal opinion already makes it an imperfect exercise.Believe it or not, Scoobs, I think no Halo next gen title besides Halo 4 has ever actually won GOTY on here. I have strong doubts that even Halo 3 won. COD4 or even Bioshock might have beat it out. I know ODST didn't win, and I'm pretty certain Reach didn't win either, unless I'm mistaken. Halo 4 might really be the only one. Dat Halo 4 making history... :D
