With Team Fortress 2 and COD4 coming out soon, it will be interesting to see how much of an impact they will have on the total number of players on Halo 3.

Not sure where to put this so I'll just say it in here as it's Halo related. Neil Blomkamp, the director hired to make the Halo movie, says it's definitely dead now. It's just not happening, and if it does, it'll be in an entirely different configuration. This says IGN. Well he said it and they're saying he said it.

Seems our poet was right after all, at least in terms of the Halo world. It does end with a whimper.

hey guys for some reason Halo 3 wont give me the "completed basic training" achievement. For the record as of right now I'm a 43 in lone wolves and I'm a captain gr2 so can anyone tell me wtf is going on?

I haven't really had a problem leveling up, but I haven't played for a few nights. The stats aren't being properly tracked on b.net though. It says that I'm a Captain Grade 2.. when a few days ago I registered as a Major on the website. I'd like to get myself up to Commander before I head down to Florida for my yearly vacation to the south, but I don't even know if I'm going to play Team Slayer until they fix this shit.

My level didn't change.. but the tracked k/d information and the amount of EXP I have isn't reading right at all on the website. I actually haven't logged into Halo since I noticed this issue.. my EXP best not have been rolled back IN GAME as well. I'll be pretty pissed.

Have any of you seen the new Halo short movie from the marketplace, it starts off with Arms Race, then Combat part 1 after that you get Landfall. It looks really good, although some of the CGI work is not brilliant, it is low budget, it makes you wonder how the movie would have looked, hopefully some day they might be able to make it.

^^ yes it is very cool, and the guy has a fantastic vision for the halo universe, i can understand why jackson is fighting for him
And that shit was done on little budget

Half of me says "dont make the movie and screw over this franchise", but the other half is all "BRING IT ON"

Either way it is NOT going to happen unless MS hand over all rights for merchandise and allow "HOLLYWOOD" to do as they see fit with the story for the movie...and thinking of it in that way...I DONT WANT THE MOVIE!

Havok is pretty cool, but uh, lots of games use it.

I need to start playing again while I still can. I've been away for a week, but I want to make commander soon. Gotta get more play time in before COD4 comes out.

except for the people like moi who's 360 has died yet again. oh well, third time lucky maybe, although i doubt it. one thing tho, this matchmaking type should be left in. from what i know the only way to play infection is to set up a custom game with a group of friends? i dont see how keeping it as a perminent matchmaking mode would be a bad thing. it'd at least spice things up a little.

What is the point of all those modes if they aren't in matchmaking. Heck, keep the stats for each mode independant--but forcing people to play shottiesnipers all the time... lame.

For custom games that's our only solution though.. I'm sure you can imagine how great XBL Public could have been, especially with all the variety that the custom games system has with forge mixed in. How sweet would it be if you could configure your own party with a group of friends in a custom lobby and then find people to fill the empty slots when you don't have populated friends lists to do it manually?

I think they said it would be a guest playlist because Infection is only fun when everyone is in to it, the thinking being that a permanent playlist would get old quickly, not have enough people in it, become full of achievement whores messing around etc.

Of course the custom game advertising feature they mentioned would mitigate that somewhat.

I know I get bouts of controller inducing rage when people don't play objective gametypes correctly. If people don't veto anything that isn't Lonewolves Slayer or don't get their way they just run around making the game a mess for everyone else. I'd love a rumble objectives playlist of some kind but then again, those looking for the FFA achievements would be in there trying to take advantage.

Hard to balance things out at times.
