Another EDFX video

As promised here is another video of Earth Defense Force X, this time with enemies a tad more dangerous than a giant ant. I must admit I'm totally taken by surprise by how much fun this game can be, it's like a reminder of what mindlessly fun games can be even with a small budget.

The first 10 minutes: Earth Defense Force X

I've received Earth Defense Force X a few weeks ago now, and immediately gave it a quick run. I soon quit playing the game in disgust and never had the courage to put it in my 360 again for some video recording. Since my friend Prune was coming today I asked him to play the game and after some fiddling with the controls it turns out the game was actually pretty fun, if still incredibly cheap in term of graphics and animation. A game I would never recommend at full price, but cheaper it's quite decent. If you guys ask me to nicely I'll record some footage from more advanced levels with more interesting enemies.

5 images of Earth Defense Forces X

D3 released five sweet screenshots of Earth Defense Forces X, last instalment of an excellent PS2 action series. The game is available in Japan since last week, and the impressions from the people who imported it are very good. Hopefully, with the US version planned to hit the shelves in march 07, we can hope an Euro release date to be announced quickly.

TGS06: EDF3 is back

Here is the last video from the TGS, and this honor goes to the very nice Earth Defense 3 showing some solo and coop gameplay. I'd really like to see what these developers could do with a big budget.

TGS06: Gameplay of Earth Defense 3

New installment of the cult PS2 series is here at TGS, and here is the first clip we got from it. Unfortunelately, the guy playing is really having a hard time with his pad. But it should help you to wait untill the developers's presentation tomorrow, which should be a lot more interesting.

Earth Defense Force X first screens

Already earning cult status on PS2, EDF franchise will be coming to japanese Xbox360 this winter in a shape of Earth Defense Force X; as always in this game you'll be protecting earth from giant insects and aliens, this time with better graphics and hopefully online co-op.

What's up?
  • Doom_Bringer
Doom_Bringer @GriftGFX: it hurts the developer and sales...are they likely to make another if the game scores bad? Edge sucks (8 minutes ago)
  • GeRaLTo
GeRaLTo @Baleur: 80% of reviews are written by "drones" .Ign, eurogamer, teamxbox, gamespot etc are nothing but companies. Who cares 'bout theirs "reviews" anyway (1 Hour ago)
  • Baleur
Baleur Why are you discussing reviews anyway? When have reviews ever mattered? They are just individual people writing about their individual opinions. Might as well read reviews on music too then, lol XD (3 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX pfft text! we only care for numbers (4 Hours ago)
  • blmbox
blmbox Yeah, but judging by the content of both reviews, Eurogamer didn't particularly care much for the game anyway. They probably only gave it an 8 to avoid controversy - the review sounded more like a 6. (8 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX 6 to 8 split on Eurogamer, which isn't quite as large but still pretty significant. (10 Hours ago)
  • SimonM7
SimonM7 Yeah sure, but from what console reviews are saying it's perfectly adequate. I mean I'm sure PC is the way to go, but I sincerely doubt we're seeing a 5 to 9 split score wise or anything. (10 Hours ago)
