Interview with Pivotal Games

Eidos Interactive and Pivotal Games have finished their work on Conflict: Denied Ops, and will be releasing it this week on Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC. A demo showed off the game last week, giving you the chance to try out the co-op mode. Today, thanks to the XCN, we have an interview with a senior designer from Pivotal Games. You'll here it all about the story, upcoming content, the future for the Conflict series and much more!

Conflict: Denied Ops demo

Eidos released a demo of Conflict: Denied Ops today, on both the Xbox Marketplace and PSN. The Conflict series has had some good squad-based games during the years, so it was a little bit disappointing to play this. You are now controlling two guys, Lang and the sniper Graves. And soon you see that (at least in the demo) there seems to be no reason to actually control Graves, as you can take down most of the people with Lang with no trouble - even when they're standing far away. Bigger maps in the full version can change this though.
The demo has some sound issues which hopefully will be fixed for the final release, which is next friday in Europe, and inside you'll find a couple of minutes of gameplay from the X360 demo.

Conflict: Denied Ops launches

Eidos released these images and a launch trailer of Conflict: Denied Ops, to be released on Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC on 22nd of February. The trailers shows more of how the coop works, which lets the player control two characters "at the same time". A PC demo will be released "soon", and hopefully we'll have something on both Xbox Live and PSN.

Crossfire is Conflict: Denied Ops

Some of you might remember Crossfire, announced during X06 - Eidos own co-op game. Back then it was planned to be released in the end of this year, but it has now slipped over to 2008, under the name of Conflict: Denied Ops. The developer, Pivotal Games, are responsible for the Conflict: Desert Storm series, so it's probably not a stupid move to use the brand again. Inside you'll find three images that looks much better than the last one released, plus some more info about the game.

What's up?
  • Baleur
Baleur Why are you discussing reviews anyway? When have reviews ever mattered? They are just individual people writing about their individual opinions. Might as well read reviews on music too then, lol XD (2 Hours ago)

GriftGFX pfft text! we only care for numbers (2 Hours ago)
  • blmbox
blmbox Yeah, but judging by the content of both reviews, Eurogamer didn't particularly care much for the game anyway. They probably only gave it an 8 to avoid controversy - the review sounded more like a 6. (6 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX 6 to 8 split on Eurogamer, which isn't quite as large but still pretty significant. (8 Hours ago)
  • SimonM7
SimonM7 Yeah sure, but from what console reviews are saying it's perfectly adequate. I mean I'm sure PC is the way to go, but I sincerely doubt we're seeing a 5 to 9 split score wise or anything. (8 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX not that the Xbox version is "that bad" by most accounts either.. there are plenty of people here playing it who adore it.. but the PC game is recieving higher marks across the board (8 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX @SimonM7: I doubt that's true too, if other reviews I've read are any indication. The game was designed around an interface that's not represented on the Xbox.. (8 Hours ago)
