To end this first day of Ubidays, here's the Far Cry 2 gameplay presentation as we discovered it during the opening conference a few hours ago.
Update: Added a tech demo showing what the engine can do.
Update2: Added a short clip of Xbox 360 gameplay from the showfloor.

Do you even know what it is?
At least concerning the pc version, tearing is GOOD. It means that it renders more frames per second than the screen can display, which means that it runs smoother than smooth, which means that you can just turn on vsync and enjoy a flawless experience.
I'd rather have a game with tearing which can be fixed by vsync, than a game running at 15 fps.
Commented on 2008-05-29 18:24:44 In reply to BaleurFor me Crysis is SP game and I don't play it all the time but when cool mod or map comes I'll play it. Like any fps games SP mode you don't play it that often. Still I will play it again for sure because I liked the game. It has some really great maps and suit and stuff was awesome. That's enough more FC2 talk now.

Oh I take that back. It's #34--442 players.
Tearing does not mean that the game is running faster than the refresh rate btw--you can just as easily experience tearing on a PC (just like consoles) with FPS underneath the displays refresh rate/time. There's no way that demo they showed is running "too fast" for--anything--or they would have indeed been using VSync so they could avoid this kind of attention.
Unless you can sustain 60+ FPS (which, this game obviously isn't in this demo) then VSync is bad. Sacrificing frame data for smoothness only benefits you if you can maintain extremely high FPS. If you watch this video and think it's "super smooth" than.. you must have watched a different video than me.
