Dead Island: Riptide is officially announced with a bunch of screenshots showing that the archipelago has been completely flooded, making survival even more difficult. The city of Henderson and the jungle of Palanai Island will then only be explorable by boat and the weather conditions will affect visibility. A fifth character will join the original cast to face new types of atrocities and mutations. The survivors will often have to defend their base and protect it with fences for example.
Deep Silver today announces first details about Dead Island Riptide.
The survivors of the zombie-apocalypse on the once beautiful island resort of Banoi escaped in a helicopter to the safety of a military ship. When a furious storm hits and the virus suddenly spreads throughout the crew, the nightmare starts all over again, leaving hope drowning in the rising tides. Devastated by a monsoon, the island of Palanai is crawling with new zombie mutations. A fifth character with an all-new skillset will join the team, providing much needed support. Additional multiplayer communication features and brand new hub defense missions will test the survivor’s teamplay skills.
Dead Island Riptide will be released in 2013 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
@Sdarts: Don't hate on pixel art you douche :) (26 minutes ago)
@Sdarts: Industry Icon is not usually for one game, but your contribution to the gaming industry I feel. There are several developers that I feel deserved it before Kojima I should have said. (28 minutes ago)
And heck one of my main complaints about the Monkey Island 1 remake is that you can't play the talky version with the OG graphics. Pixels don't offend me. (29 minutes ago)
A GOG version would be.. pretty much ScummVM. And you totally do not need HD assets to enjoy LucasArts games. Played Sam & Max Hit the Road like two months ago. It's still beautiful. (29 minutes ago)
If only GOG had a version. Either way, an HD remaster made just to work with new systems and some HD assets is all I need. (32 minutes ago)
@Megido: Lost the CD a long time ago between movings. I have used ScummVM and VirtualBox before, but playing though a window or fullscreen at very low resolutions does more harm than good. (34 minutes ago)
@Sdarts: If you have the original you can just play it with ScummVM :) (48 minutes ago)
