The previous game wasn't even 720p on console and looked horrid.
DIRT2-3 destroys it.
Richard Burns Rally was clearly not the best-looking game either, still, hardcore rally fans keep playing the game on PC.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying WRC 3 will surely be the best rally game out there. But until I can try it for myself, and see if the driving sensations are indeed rally-like, I will not stop at the graphics or resolution. WRC 3 has a lot to prove, but it's the only true rally game there is now. Dirt may be fun and gorgeous, but it does not feel like rally anymore.
Besides people nowadays seem to use the word "terrible" (or something equivalent) rather too easily. I mean, is it THAT bad? Seriously?
I'll try to look into it.
Codemasters on other hand, aren't bad by any means, they just are misguided on what "rally" fans actually care and want, and the team must be so much different compared to th 90s colin team, their idea of a rally game isn't a pure great handling like it was back then... they caved it to what is popular and flashy.
Milestone is a terrible developer... even if you get the moneyhats and licensed game $ coming in for your mediocre efforts that you can keep making so small gradual better sequels, the base problem will always be theere the same: them. they are a bad developer.
