NG Sigma is NG HD? hehe nah man, most definitely not.
NG Sigma has quite a few features from the next-gen engines with very good bloom effect, nice motion blurr, nice details...etc.

Its not NEX-GEN, but it has a few features to be so.

I sure as hell expected more visuals for a sequal.

hahaha that trains never late =P

But in all honesty its a late 2008 title. So maybe there could be an improvement come then and we still haven't seen a video of it ? If it only had incredible graphics and didn't make advancements in other areas then it really would be NG HD.

I see people say next gen this next gen that. What the hell is next gen? Great graphics and thats that? How about using the power of this hardware to create gaming experiences on a level that were simply out of reach on the last gen machines. That alone should qualify as next gen. Can you imagine the backlash if Halo 3 was the best looking game ever made, but with incredibly small environments crappy ai and not that many enemies to fight and no gameplay related additions?

I actually called that when Ninja Gaiden 2 is first shown a lot of people here will be disappointed, but I stated firmly it wouldn't bother me any because I don't get caught so much in graphics nor do I think they are as important as some do.

IIRC NG and DOAs were published in Japan and NA by Tecmo and by Microsoft in Europe... Now Microsoft is a direct publisher, so that changes things a bit.
Are you sure? I seem to remember a big MGS logo on the US versions of these games.

Sure are right about that. You're always so sure that people who can appreciate graphics can't appreciate gameplay.. which is completely ridiculous. I'm a bit disappointed in the graphics, especially when we heard there would be some new visual style in place--and what we got is far from new. I'm sure it will be a great game but people who think it looks like Sigma are well.. dead on.

My copy of Dead or Alive 4 is published by Tecmo not Microsoft Game Studios so obviously something is different here.

haha sath its NG HD cause it didn't meet their graphical expectations. Screw the game itself that isn't whats important its all about the graphics baby! :D

The best graphics possible out there is what the console wars demands not good games I've just had a revelation :)

I know they're not a first/second party, but I'm pretty sure all of Team Ninja's Xbox games are published by MGS.
Nope. NG2 would be the first. DOA3, DOA4, DOAX, NG, DOAX2 were all published by Tecmo.

Like I said, NG Sigma is not NG HD, it has alot of next-gen features in it to be considered as a next-gen title.

I had NG Black, and I played it on a 720p from the 360, and it was no where close to being as good looking as NG Sigma

Now as for NG2...for a sequal I sure expected it too look a bit better.
But if anyone remember how NG looked in the early stages and then closer to release it started to bloom open to quite a looker :P

Anyway, these are just the few new images, and we all can say that screenshots doesn't make a game justice until gameplay footages are shown.

You can't see much in that, but from that small unwatchable screen, it sure seems to look very good in motion :D

The gameplay is so fast that it's hard to watch. Hard to keep up with. Lots of blood. Bodies getting chopped in half. Ryu pins enemis on the ground, thrusts his sword in, and they explode!
Actually, I think the shurikens are equipped as a subweapon. The environments have a lot of destructable elements to them. He's fighting in a fruit stand area, and when the fight ends, all the stands have been destroyed and the fruits are lying on the ground.
Chopped up bodies are everywhere. They don't seem to be leaving the scene, at least not initially.
I like these comments. I especially like the shaking blood off sword comment. Probably looks pretty damn cool and all that blood splatter may add to the experience as well especially with it apparently being pretty fast. The environments also look like much larger playgrounds than before. Sath that shot looks like a lot of blur is being used. Someone HAD to have captured a friggin video of this.

Op, yeah I know, someone was sneaky with that stuff, shame it wasent a video cam.

One thing on Xbox.com is saying is that NG2 is having auto-regenerating health.
I hope this time around you can regenerate yourhealth by esscence or cool off some place.

The whole environment interactive stuff in NG2 is likely to be like DOA4, like that market level with the chariots and fruits.
Kind of a bummet, I wanted very cool physics, but ah well, its NG2 damn it :D.

But all these are just speculations and all, I want a gameplay footage to atleast know just a bit more in terms of combat.
But thats all gonna be at TGS!

Regenerative health? Hmm.. not sure I like that.. stands to calm the challenge a little. Guess that's a next gen feature! ;)

On a completely unrelated note, I hate all this "next-gen" stuff. It's been next gen for TWO YEARS.. can we stop calling it "next"?

Grift I am with you on this one...but however people still play Xbox and PS2 games today.

But I don't even know if after 2 years we should be able to call it next-gen, while its all current gen.

I think Xbox and PS2 games should be called "last gen" and all the "next-gen" as for PS3 and 360 is "currtent gen".

Yea that regenerating health thing is a bit iffy, but it'll atleast help noobs out a bit and in some cases I'm sure even the more hardcore will appreciate the little health support they do end up getting.

Were people simply not allowed to record this game in action?

When I first saw SS the other day I could have sworn that someone was generating false hype by using Sigma screenshots as "NG2" ones. Sigma isn't ugly, and it looks smoother graphically than Too Human, but it DMC4 and HS look better.

Gameplay, well, that is a different story. The NG pedigree is pretty good.

Well Op we dont know how that auto-regenerating health system works...I might think of it something like Halo, Rainbow Six Vegas...etc., but how are we suppose to take it easy toregenerate our helath during the combat of master ninjas at us.

1. what is SS?

2. Yes, graphically its yet not up to NG Sigma, but im sure it will be, just like the devs for NG Sigma said that once it is completed it will look much better, and it did, samething can go to NG2.

DMC4 and HS looks better graphically but combat...it all comes in different story.

I for one im a 3rdperson action/adventure nut, so HS, DMC4 and NG2 is up there, with HS close, one is to go :D.

But I just can't wait for Devil May Cry 4 at the moment because its closer to release and such than NG2.

NG2 has its own place...late 2008 :D

It took me between 20 and 30 to complete the original my first play-through. Now I can do it in less than half that.

I see a lot of completion times thrown around in reviews and previews lately, and it's pretty worthless IMO.

There are no screenshots like that, but once you play it, you will see from different angles or in-game cutscenes like that.

However, thats from NG2, and because its new I don't think NG Sigma is is anything like that anymore...atleast for me.
