For a racing game, yeh. Though admittedly I haven't been much into the GT series so I don't know how this compares to the other games.

Though I agree with Bloodforge, the screens look deceptively good now that I've seen video.

Surely you cannot be serious, theres no way this game looks anywhere near as good as Forza 2, this doesnt even look as good as Test Drive Unlimited!

I'll agree that it looks a little rough in motion--but no--adjust these screenshots to 720p, put them next to a Forza 2 SS. I'm just dumbfounded as to how one could think Forza 2 looks any better in stills, when it looks generally unimpressive. And as for the test drive unlimited comment--well now I know you're crazy. Hell, Atari wouldn't even release REAL screenshots of that game because the IQ is so freaking bad.

At this point in time, Forza 2 still fails to look significantly better than PGR3 in screenshots--I would love to see it in motion though..still waiting on that. And you certainly wouldn't want to compare Forza's first batch of screenshots to this (this games first batch of screenshots!)

Level of detail, draw distance, lighting--it's all looking pretty good. It does sort of fail in motion though--hopefully they can fix that.

Well considering that PGR3 is still by far the best looking racer ever created and that Forza runs in 60fps with 12 cars on track, i'd say thats quite an achievement, wouldnt you?

HAHA! NO WAY. there's simply NO WAY. GTR2, like every other PC racing game, looks very meh.....sadly.

There are 3 massive differences; Modeling, Lighting, Shadowing.

The differences here are modeling (polys), reflections, lighting and shadowing.

So basically, PGR3 is the best looking racing game EVER.

It's a horrible screenshot..the bottom one may be from photoomde, but aside from a slight boost in IQ--that's more of an indication of what the game looks like--atleast on my screen.

He's right, PGR3 is the best looking racer ever..it won't hold that possition forever (or maybe not even for particularly long) but it's certainly a gem--still one of the best looking 360 games despite its drawbacks. I still think GTR2 looks decent though, despite some obvious flaws..the most notable is image quality. PGR4 is gonna be damn great looking.

I do agree with you Grift that it is the best looking racer ever, but like you say it won't hold that spot for long.

Granted i have only played the PGR3 demo so i can't really say too much about the game, but from what i have seen of the demo, i wasn't paticularly overly (jaw dropping to the floor) impressed with it.
