Sweet, thank you for posting this. There is a great article in Games For Windows in the February issue, worth a read if you can track it down.

This game is going to be awesome. Desert Combat team + UE3 = DICE can keep their Bad Company. Man--Bad Company--What a loaded name!

The one thing Frontlines (and 2142!) seem to be missing: Jets. Helos are awesome (especially with a good gunner) but BF2 dogfights were really something special.

Well I do not like the look of BF: Bad Company, it's like your regular military theme.
At least this one has new technology, and looks couple of years in the future.

Well I do not like the look of BF: Bad Company, it's like your regular military theme.
At least this one has new technology, and looks couple of years in the future.

For me it's all about the gameplay, not the setting. I'll go back down in the trenches in World War 2 if a developer delivers a worth while experience. I actually love the bad company setting/period, it's right out of BF2. I like this too though, realistic yet slightly advanced.

Mixed reaction really, I do enjoy using real world weapons..but whatever. I am still anticipating this more than anything DICE has in the works that I've seen. They could win me back by doing BF3 and doing it right, but that's probably never going to happen.

Still want to see some jets, but I'm guessing they're out.

I am not saying that BF Bad Company is bad or anything, but I prefer more advanced stuff rather your typical ones, I guess I am a sci-fi fan with high-tech at heart.

I am like you, by having mixed feelings, but in the end yeah the gameplay gotta be there, but I have to see if the setting is right, then I will check the gameplay if it is appealing.

I think this will deliver, mostly because the people behind it really know this genre and they really care about making this game the best of its kind. I don't know if they will achieve that goal, but they'll make an effort, and it will be good. It could be great.

Ye think its 32 or 64 not quite sure does look promosing although IGN gameplay video really distorted had to zoom out to get it to look decent. I read the IGN article interesting bit at end maybe Nukes also from what i read sounds quite cool. :)

Looks MUCH better than Battlefield Bad Company, theme-wise. It's like GRAW goes to the world of Battlefield.
You got air drones, ground drones, choppers or air support and maybe air strike, and hopefully artillery strikes. cool weapons, cross-com...etc. all that and then add a great of up to 32 or 62 player online play.

This game looks good and sounds interesting. It also has sublime atmosphere. However...

Theme can mean anything without context. How can one theme 'look much better' than another when both are fairly common? Besides it is not like multiplayer shooters with a sci fi theme are exactly new.

PC version is 64, console is 32.

It's not quite science fiction though, it's more like GRAW's theme, mixed with Battlefields sandbox sorta gameplay, mixed with Enemy Territory's objective gameplay.

Those tanks look ridiculously awesome too, I hope they mostly control like BF2's tank. I must have spent like 500 hours in a tank in BF2. Well..I already know of some differences.

In this game, vehicles will require more team work and cooperation. The driver will control the main gun while the other unit spots targets and controls counter measures, etc. I like this approach for public play, but I worry about how it will effect smaller clans. In Battlefield 2, if you actually needed two people in every key vehicle 8v8 matches would be next to impossible, because you would quickly run out of infantry.

I did not say this a sci-fi BAttlefield. I said its more as GRAW which means couple of years in the future. Grfit basically said what I meant =P.

I hope there is jets on this game though, because that was what made BF Modern Combat suck at some point.
Besides sometimes the choppers were hard to control.

Watching the original teaser trailer (not gameplay) there are jets in it--but I haven't seen them in any actual screenshots yet. Their designs actually look awesome..hope they're in the game.

The infantry videos not that great, but I'm still hoping for a really good game--the guy in that video did not aim/zoom once, barely changed stance, etc. Hopefully a lot of that is not because of the game itself but the person playing it.

Well the gameplay videos aren't that good in my opinion, but it does give you how the sight of the game will be like. Too many jaggies and stuff, but this is a early built non the less and is in work in progress.

I haven't seen jets in screenshots yet, but the trailer it showed some jets, which I hope it comes in handy.

I am very so-so on this game. I am not a FPS fan that much, that's because I am maybe on all FPS games, except Halo 3, because I want to see what happens iin the trilogy but other than that, FPS aren't my cup of tea.

It's not coming out this month, and those videos were crap, mostly because of the gameplay--but I do believe this game will be MUCH better than that video suggests. I mean come on--the guy doesn't even look down his scope once--and he's mostly missing. Hopefully future media will help convince others as well..there's a lot to love here if these guys can pull this off..and if anyone can they're a good group to do it.

You can man a ton of vehicles in Frontlines.

It's actually just the "Big Tank" video from IGN--just a little darker--but thanks. Those gameplay videos drive me nuts, because I know the infantry gameplay must be much better than what they're showing. The dude at the end of the night time video is shooting what looks like a support machine gun standing, from the hip. He doesn't even have a reticule and the bullet deviation, recoil etc seems fine--he just likes to miss and look like an idiot. Gives a poor impression of the game though, I hope they release better videos soon.

I haven't lost hope yet, this could still be the next great Battlefield game.
