Since 6800 DaysOn the other hand, fans will want to know about those little details, so maybe there's something to be said for fan driven reviews.. but I still think that's a crappy way to rate a game. If a game only appeals to fans of a specific anime series, it's probably not a good game.
Since 6692 DaysIts only fun because its true to the source material. I'm not speaking just in terms of visual design and art here. I'm speaking in terms of crucial design decisions that end up impacting the feel of the game. Non fans of a specific anime series or those without proper knowledge of it couldn't possibly begin to understand or appreciate what is done right from what isn't most of the time which is why I say certain titles don't get what they truly deserve in reviews nor with the general gaming public.
I once saw a game review compare a Naruto fighting game to Streetfighter Third Strike....

Me being a Naruto fan(sort of now) I expect a lot more from them, especially with the sequels. So far, Ubisoft seems to be the first one that is actually trying to make a "good game", not a "quick cash" game that hardly improves over its predecessors. .
