sadly yes, pompus, arrogant fuckers imo. gamesTM is a far better mag if your looking for that ultra serious journalism. THAT would fall under best 'serious' gaming UK mag. although i prefer the mags with a sense of humour, and sadly neither EDGE nor gamesTM have one. so they wont be getting my cash. not hat mags are needed now-a-days. i mean. whats the point when you have the tinternet at your fingertips.

Makes me wonder what all those 7, 5...etc. was all about? Bad taste in gaming or just being picky.

i prefare famitsu's scoring method over everyone elses. the fact you get 4 different people reviewing the game instead of just taking one persons word for it makes it far more credible in my eyes. today it seems that every review copies the next to create a sea of 8's or 9's or whatever it gets, with VERY little in the way of variation. despite the fact opinions are typically quite varied. i still think there should be a site with the fanboys viewpoint and the haters viewpoint with no scores what so ever, that way you get the extremes of both arguments with no scores to bitch and moan about (which is typically what the arguments boil down to). there seems to be an over emphesis on the number at the end of reviews now, which frankly sucks balls.

actually i like their METHOD of multiple reviews, which is what i said, i didnt say i liked the mag or writting style, becasue whaddya know, i dont speak anything besides english. but the idea of multiple opinions from different people with varied taste is better then john doe saying a game is good or bad. you at least get a slightly fairer average.

and numbers are over emphesised, people get hung up on the fact a game their looking forward to get a 7.5, without reading the review itself. its sad.
