I have recently finshed AC2 and I loved the ending! but honestly I think releasing this one year after is WAY TOO soon.It runs a risk of being more of the same and end u being boring.... Is it just a Multiplayer game or does it actually continue the story? as in is it a full fledged sequel?

If it was a full fledged game it would be AC3 dont you think?

It think this is as much sequal as Crysis Warhead was to Crysis.

See it as Directors Cut to AC2.

I think Brotherhood is only multiplayer with various modes with alternare story to AC2, just guessing.

This is sort of a Pandora Tomorrow type thing. Story part of it is 15ish hours, takes place entirely in Rome I think, and is about Ezio leading a band of assassins for whatever purpose. Killing being the wild guess.

Is it a AC 2.5? Absolutely. Do I mind? Hell no. I love games I love, and giving us this while they can work on AC3 in peace is something I honestly think many franchises could benefit from.

Deftangel, I didnt even see the AC: Brotherhood in the main page, I just created it of trailer hype LOL :)
But its all good :)

Simon, have you played or know the concept behind Tenchu Z?

Same thing there...sort of.

Rikimaru, which was the main character through all Tenchu games is the one giving order to you for missions and other stuff, while you play as a character you created.
You can go co-op online and start assassinating targets.

I would assume its the samething here.

At some point when you go online, there is some sort of a hideout were Ezio will be.
People will go there and start talking to Ezio and start accepting missions.

But after AC2 I dont mind, very slow and boring start sure, but by the time you are in Venice and have gotten enough gadgets and new ability movements, I had alot of fun.
As long as they follow AC2's formula in gameplay and all we will have a great gameplay mechanic, and if they balance the online co-op features then its all better :)

Just watched the footage from this on the front page. Looked great! Right up there on my list with Reach now.

Is it too soon? I think Ubisoft are trying to replicate Activisions strategy here and ship iterations of franchises more regularly. As long as the games are good enough, I have less of an issue with this and this didn't strike me as a 2.5 spin off.

except in prince of persia'a case it was rather rubbish. They better announce a new pop that follows the 2008 story !

Forgotten Sands is absolutely fine, far from rubbish at any rate. The only real problem with that game is that it's a weird prospect to suddenly jump back into the last gen trilogy, and the feeling of having been there and done that is an unfortunate side effect.

But yeah, I'm totally on board with Brotherhood. I loved - LOVED - Ezio Auditore Di Firenze, and it was bittersweet to see AC2 end and my aquaintance with Ezio end. More reasons to run around italy rooftops with one of the only proper humble and unassuming videogame protagonists around was enough to get me interested. Turns out they seem to be doing some fun stuff I wasn't expecting, like improving the facial animation and implementing some light new gameplay elements.

The strategy of using the same engine to make follow ups faster while working on a new entry behind the scenes is a model I generally do like. I like how they did the Splinter Cell games, for instance. I wasn't bothered at all that Pandora Tomorrow was a pretty light update, because it was a brand new campaign with a way different vibe, and they did some interesting things because they had the base/engine already. I didn't technically mind the original PoP trilogy being mostly the same engine/game, apart from the obvious problems with the presentation in WW.

In fact, I like the Half Life episodes and I like Halo 3: ODST in a similar way. If the base gameplay is good enough, if the game already looks alright, you can fill them with stuff I find a lot more meaningful than engine/graphics updates by just tweaking or twisting the existing mechanics and providing a new backdrop.

So uh, yeah. Yep. :) (where am I and what am I talking about!?)

I'm still convinced that was a movie tie in and at some point they changed tack. Perhaps realised it was rubbish. The first mention of it in a conference call (when I used to listen to them, saddo :P) was pretty explicit.

But yes, damn straight we need more 2008 PoP!

Daaaaaamn it looks like a absolutely fun!

Man I definitely need to get my hands on the PS3 Beta

My favorite part was where the player tried to disguise but as soon as he turned around he got stabbed by someone looking like Ezio LOL, nice!

But one problem that I dont like is the idea of there are NPCs that looks like the players, kind of feels cheap in design seeing "clones" all over.
Whatever, I love this concept, I am definitely sure it will give me hours of fun!

Live stage demo!
http://e3.gamespot.com/live.html?tag=filter_tabs%3...

Showing off MP.

Man the MP side has so much potential of being so fun!

The idea of just seeing A hunts C, B hunts C...etc. would be confusing if you keep hunting your target there is a chance the player hunting you would take you out.

Can't wait for the beta :)

Multiplayer walkthrough trailer
http://www.gametrailers.com/video/e3-2010-assassin...

Wow the Courteasan looks great in design and have a awesome style to assassinate her target, very cool!
But I am going with the Hunter (closest thing to Ezio/Altair look).

I didnt like one thing...disguise.
I mean why not just blend into the crowd or run quick enough to find a hay or hide in or something.
To "morph" into another character is stupid IMO, I mean how the hell can you just morph into someone, this aint transformers.

I do hope there is a way of countering this because if not it would kind of break the game.

Imagine the other player is on your tail, you do some quick turns on corners and all you have to do is morph and just stand still infront of a shop or something.

My idea would be like this, even if they morph the radar on screen shows the target is there somewhere and is close, but you can hear heartbeats, the louder it gets the closer you know you are getting to your target.

Or the bleeding effect.
You look down on the ground you see red footsteps of your target, some shows a clear path with small confusing direction, if you do go to the right direction you have a chance of finding your target even if he/she is still in morph.

Those would be my ideas of countering the morph with a 50/50 chance of finding your target.

Ok, that looks really cool but like you, the morph power just seems game breaking. Surely it would be more interesting game play for you to find a group of your faction (Courtesans, Thieves, Doctors etc) and try to blend in with them, or the crowd. That's what the game is about.

This is rocketing up my list of interesting games this year though

Yeah definitely, you keep seeing clones all over the place.
And you just "moprhing" like some sort of a transformer or whatever anytime you want seems annoying.

Imagine you have one on your tail atfter you kill someone else, the first 23 turns you take you can morph and you are off the hook, what?

They have to add a counter ability to that.

first of all, can someone please remain this thread into "I love Ezio - The Assassins Creed Brotherhood Thread" or something like that, thx

And next: this is an outrage. I have played the game for about 20 hours, in Chapter 7 and I can only tell you all to be careful and for the moment not do any of the "Christina" Missions. I finished the first one of said missions and the game put me back to florence with practically nowhere to go (white walls all around). There are no icons or indicators or anything on the map anymore, all my money is gone, as well as all my equipment and strenght-squares. It's like as if I just started the game. The ultimate glitch. Only option seems to be a complete restart of the game. But I wont, because I don't have the time for it to play it all over again ... I'm so frustrated. Every minute I have is very precious to me, with all the obligations as a 35 year old father and having a family and such ... so this "waste" of time hurts twice as much as it would have 10 years ago.

I miss the cartridge times, where there were no game breaking bugs. Except E.T. maybe :D

This game has absolutely blew me away, its just soooooooooooooo fucking good, it makes the second one look like the first ( and i loved the second one, first was biggest let down this gen for me, so bloody boring).

Damn that sucks dude, i gotta say on the PS3 have you had frame rate issues (ALWAYS on the horse, specially when running in town) i have had the ps3 fully lock up, and the only thing that was not locked up ( all 14-16 times this has happened, yes that often) was the "physics" on the tails horse lol.... atill loved it though
Nothing game breaking here, but i can imagine your pain, same for me on Fallout 3 GotY disk, the entire game runs sweet as a nut, except point lookout, major frame issues to the point of system crashes
