The Top Spin Association will be hosting tournaments for anyone with Top Spin 2.

You'll be able to play as your favourite ATP and WTA stars. That's right, play as Venus/Serena Williams, Andre Agassi, Pete Sampras, etc through tournaments like Wimbledon, US Open, Roland Garros, Australian Open and many of the real-life tournaments.

That's really cool!
But you have to be really good to stand somewhat of a chance.
With topspin on the xbox, I got my ass kicked bigtime, though I don't think I sucked that bad at it...
You just didn't get a change to do anything, cause those guys used that bleeding 'Risk Shot' with every strike...impossible to get through....

We realized that problem in the first game as well.

We're keeping an open-mind at this point and allow the creators to fix that vulnerability for the Top Spin 2 release in April however, if things don't change, we will consider turning into a complete SIM tour.

SIM tours ban all risk shots (except for serve), drop shots, kick and zero power serves.

We have to really wait and see how the game plays but we will definetely be keeping our eyes open for ways to make the tour enjoyable to everyone.

I know the game ships April 3, 2006 in Canada and the US. I'm not sure when it ships in Europe and Asia however I think it's all going to happen at the same time. The game was delayed already (originally scheduled for January) however the developers held off to focus their efforts on more prominant games that generate more revenue.

Btw, do you know if there is commentary during the matches(I mean in single player aswell).
That was a feature I missed in topspin.

I doubt it. I think much of the basics from the first game will be continued into the second.

You really liked commentary? I get annoyed from it. Especially in Hard Hitter - it was distracting and often wrong.

Yeah, the experience I get when playing topspin is more that I'm watching a tennis match rather then that I'm playing tennis myself.
Offcourse you do control it yourself, but still......
Then I do miss the comment(if it's not very enoying, obviously :)
It's like with fifa, the comment isn't brilliant offcourse, but it does give that extra touch to make you feel you're watching an match.
Dunno bout Hard Hitter, never played it myself....

I wasn't planning on playing it, but I might give it a try now:D
Dunno much about the game, but 'Hard Hitter' would suit better as a name for a Hardporn movie then a softporn movie though :D

I am but things are little a little sparse. I think it's because there's still 3 or 4 weeks until its release. Maybe 1 week or the week of its release will people become excited.

The TSA plans to hold Davis Cup for the ATP tour and Fed Cup for the WTA side of the tour. Teams will represent countries - just as the Fed-Cup and Davis Cup do. The country you represent will be that of your WTA or ATP player; not your home country. The two events will be held provided there is sufficient support from members.

I'm looking forward to this as well, though I don't know that I'd be commited enough to it to do a league/tourny..and to be honest, Ping Pong is coming soon as well and I've always been a big fan of the table version of the sport..so I guess we'll see :)

It looks good though, hope it's atleast as good as the first one.

Well, I certainly hope that the 'risk shot' feature is improved, cause that just ruined playing online with the last version for me.
But, as mentioned above, hopfully you should be able turn it off.
We'll see how it turns out, but I'll be getting this game anyway.
And that Ping Pong game looks like a lot of fun too, can't wait:)

EBGames has changed the shipping date from April 4 2006 to March 29 2006. They will also be selling the game for only $39.99 US! This means that the Top Spin Association will be debuting sooner: April 3 2006!

It appears that the release date for Europe is April 7. I called around to a small video games store in Toronto and the guy told me that they'll have copies on the 28th of March.

    TheDud des ombres douces, c'est assez zinzin. je pense que les passages en foret font être fou. le seul hic pour moi : la route pavée dans les villages qui a pas un très bon rendu (compression de la video ?) (il y a 1 Heure)
