There was a story in the first one too. It was pretty much shit, but it was there. I wouldn't expect too much from this title in terms of story, but i bet the gameplay will be top noch, just like the predecessor. If you expect some sort of epic adventure form NG, then you are most likely in for a big disappointment.

my main problem with the previous game was the camera; half the time you couldn't even see your enemies.
Yeah, we could do manual camera control, but the horizontal axis was permanently inverted, contrary to the game controls, so I could NEVER get used to it.

I'm not a real ninja Itigaki!

Clunky? That's probably your fault, because to me the game feels very smooth when playing. As for accessibility, i guess mastering the game can feel daunting, but i wouldn't call it inaccessible. The controls are simple enough to understand, the moves list is fairly large i guess bot nothing extreme and after that it's alla bout figuring out the patterns of the enemies.

The camera is indeed kind of sucky though. But as long as you keep centering it behind you with the RT you'll be alright most of the time :)

Here is a short gameplay video. I captured the stream (FLV) and converted it into WMV. It´s from a GT TV episode. Of course I only took the NG 2 part.

This video is from 2/9/2008 it´s not an old video of the claw weapons

The quality isn´t very good, since I don´t know how to convert FLV files properly.

Meg, the thing i guess that was the most annoying was that damn xbox controller...but, for my first xbox game, i was pretty unimpressed...once you get good at the game yeah, once you know how to work it...but thats the way it is with anygame, i just didnt feel the fluid extension, and yeah, the ai was predictable...how i beat it was alot of, ok he'll do this, thats when i do this. i'd love to see one that your ai reacts to you, meh, maybe im dreaming.

Yeah, the lack of fluidity you speak of is your fault. One of my favourite aspects of the game is how fluid it all feels; can you name me a game wither more fluid combat? Also, the AI was predictable in that they enemies had a certain list of moves you knew they could pull off, but I wouldn't say the AI was any more predictable than any other game like it.

Thinking the game isn't fluid and using the "he'll do this, thats when i do this" strategy makes me think you weren't good enough to get in there and fight, but instead held block and waited for a counter.

The game itself just amazes me. I don't like that Itagaki states he's done with this series though.
2 games is great yeah---but damn, this franchise had huge potential IMO, no?

Yea, thats gamesradar for you. Half of their review was bitching about the difficulty, and not only that, they criticized Itagaki personally in the review as well. Low blow ftl. I remember they did the same act for the first NG1 review, and Itagaki called them out and owned them pretty good. :) Hell, Gamesradar gave Haze a 7/10 as well, so frankly speaking they can suck a fat one.

itakagi was an idiot who dont know the difference between cheap & hard, or better he think cheap is hard and thank god TEAM NINJA kicked him out.he dont know how to direct great games. oh and by the way NG2 stinks. NINJA GAIDEN SIGMA 2 is way superior than NG2. NG3 will be the first thats not cheap as hell, atleast thats what i think.

Without Itagaki you wouldn't have your "so called better" Sigma 2 since Hayashi haven't created shit yet only ported.

Talk to us when NG3 has a better combat engine than NG2 completly created from scratch from him and his team.

Raptor...better is an opinion.
I would take NGS2 anyday from NG2.

Only thing NGS2 lacked was gore and IS but overal its definitely better.

As for NG3, he is going to make the combat from scratch with this new feature, I hope its a great title on its own.
All we can do is wait for E3.

But considering I have Ninja Gaiden in my blood and I am a fanboy of the franchise I will buy it regardless.

To be fair, I think the focus of his post was more about how even though NGS2 might have been better, it had the luxury of being built upon NG2. I find it hard to put faith in a guy who has only...modified... instead of creating, though NG3 is one of the games I'm looking forward to most at the upcoming E3. Fucking stoked!

Ah, I understand.

Well everyone has their doubts when a new developer takes on a franchise.

But see it this way.

Hayashi has been with DOa and Ninja Gaiden franchise from the beginning, he can't fuck up the franchise as shitty as Capcom giving "DmC" to a company who doesnt know shit about the franchise, Ninja Theory.

I do believe Ninja Gaiden 3 will deliver, depending on standard.
As long as its a good game overal and not a disaster as Ninja Gaiden 2 was, I think its safe.
