I agree with you. The 1st movie also had some moments in story that really dragged.
I need to get into the other gatari series/episodes. There are so many and it's hard making time in my free time

I tried to keep going on Attack on Titan but it's lost my interest. I don't know if it was the gap in production or what.
Stuff I posted earlier I also got bored of. Little Witch, My Hero Academia, and Maidragon. Every season I realize how rare a good series is that I keep up with consistently

Shinichiro Watanabe of Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo is making a Blade Runner short!

Darling in the FranXX is worth peeping, by A1 and studio Trigger! Two first class studios

So Darling in the FranXX is oddly sexual, but so are a lot of anime - esp ones by Trigger

Lots of innuendo, and this is how they pilot.

The anime is aware of its sexuality too, making jokes and comments all over the place

News at 11.

I really don't like anything from Trigger. The way they stylize mecha combat, and the fact that they make robots idol girls is pretty odd too. The story is kinda interesting so far despite all that, but nothing I'd recommend.

Just finished season 2 of Shingeki. Very satisfied and lots of truly epic and wtf moments.

Can't wait for season 3. Now I just have to watch the Annie OVA. Then it will be a long wait til July.

4realz?

They're one of my favs. You don't like Gurren Laggan or Kill la Kill?
Not to mention they're derived from Neon Genesis and FLCL

A1 is doing this too though, it'll be interesting how that shapes things
I think the story is super interesting so far. I'm probably hoping too hard for it to have something cool to say about sex/relationships/love

I haven't been able to get back into Titan. I wish it didn't go on hiatus for so long.

Gurren Laggan and Kill la kill are gorgeous animes.

I was in the same mindset about Titan. The hiatus killed almost all the hype I had but after watching the new episodes the hype train is back on track. :)

Thinking about getting into Made in Abyss. Any of you guys seen it?

I couldn't really get into Gurren Lagan even though everyone recommended it, but I hated Kill la Kill. Their style is just not for me.

Made in Abyss was beautiful. Loved everything from the story to the music to the beautiful animation. Really heartbreaking scenes towards the end. I never thought a normal anime series would hit Studio Ghibli levels of production value or emotion. Highly recommended.

I gotta peep Made in Abyss now too

I hear good things about 'A Place Further than the Universe' as well
Apparently it's the same vibe?

Just started Cowboy Bebop so will have to try and juggle that and Made in Abyss.

First episode of Bebop gave me a rally good feeling that I will like this entire show.

Haven't heard of A Place Further than the Universe though.

I have missed out on a lot. Only started watching anime a couple years ago around the time Shingeki came out. Feels great to have all these awesome shows ahead of me though.

When you're through with that (if you like it), there's another show the director does in a similar vein called Samuair Champloo
Of which I haven't watched all of myself, but it's good!

Soooooo I hate to say it but Darling in the FranXX is really getting even more exciting story wise. SUPER COOL if you stick with it

Sorry you are such a Triggeracist Phaeth

Gungale Online seems interesting - but maybe I'm supposed to hate it because it's derived from Sword Art. Dunno...

Also gonna check out one I missed from last year called Mitsuboshi Colors - looks p funny

I dunno if I can do Megalo Box, but I'll try again

New FLCL seems kinda boring so far, but on the plus side the Pillows new tracks for it are killer!
This new iteration lacks a lot of the creativity and the randomness of the older one. Even though they really try to emulate it.
