The 360 version has been unplayable for 2-3 months because of lag. People were switching to UK servers

He plays the PC version. The Saiga really has always been good there. It was one of the first weapons I got a platinum star with (after the AN-94 and 1911).

You know what's semi-good since the last PC patch? The M9-3. It's not completely useless anymore. It's sorta fun since I hate the shit ROF on the 1911 now.
The patch is next week sometime according to the blog. And I still use the 1911, the fact that i dont have to look down the sights and just fire as fast as possible (at practically any distance) and kill people instantly is amazing. I'd also like to add my KDR is at 2.16 now :)

You can't fire it as fast as possible anymore though. It has a gimped, artificial ROF and it pisses me off. It's much better at range now than CQC, since your accuracy is better with timed shots at range anyway. Also, the iron sights on every pistol are garbage. I don't know why, but they're sorta useless. It's like zooming with the Saiga (without slugs). But who uses slugs with the Saiga anyway? That's what the 870 is for. :) It's still the best pistol, but the changes really bother me.

I also use the tracer dart more, it's not garbage anymore.

That's shit! They just buffed it in the last patch! Shooting down helos with the CG is pretty easy, but the RPG is pretty rough without a tracer.

Lets be honest, if you spend any amount of time in helos then you know that tracers are OP right now.

Aye.. most ladders are banning the CG though, which makes anti-air options pretty slim at times.

Gameplay - Tracer dart gun speed has been changed from 300 m/s to 200 m/s
Gameplay - Fixed technical hang when a crate was armed outside of the combat area
Gameplay - "Victory is near" message was shown for the wrong team on Valparaíso, this has been fixed
Gameplay - Countermeasures can be fired when driving a helicopter
Gameplay - The brightness of the pilot view in the Russian helicopter has been reduced
Gameplay - Advanced Spotting scope works better
Gameplay - Knifing people in the back works again (we backed out the change that we had done for Server R11)
Gameplay - Hit box for moving targets expands based on the speed of the targets movement
Gameplay - G36 now has crosshair when in Hardcore mode

Server Browser - Servers are sorted into 3 categories: Normal, Modified, Hardcore depending on their settings
Server Browser – Added support for retrieving update progress
Server Browser - Now refreshes information
Server Browser - Join queue system when attempting to join a full server
Server Browser - All settings are automatically saved between sessions
Server Browser - Pings are sent via an alternate mechanism, which should work for non-Administrator users as well

Client - Fixed DX9 issue, which likely caused graphics glitches and perhaps crashes
Client - Fixed some crashes
Client - Toggle/hold crouch is user controllable
Client - Toggle/hold zoom is user controllable
Client - Vsync bugfixed for DX10/DX11
Client - Rewritten how settings are written to disk; this should reduce/eliminate the spawn lag
Client - Fixed bug where a player could join a server before the stats has been downloaded causing faulty stats in "EOR- unlock progression"-screen
Client - New chat system allows chatting when dead (but not during end of round) and keeps a 100 lines log
Client - Improved Play Now functionality
Client - Removed K/D ratio and Skill Level filters in the leaderboards
Client - Any points you get while being dead will be added to your score
Client - Reduced negative mouse acceleration
Client - Increased health on the Cobra to match other vehicles
Client - More informative disconnection/kick reasons
Client - Support for Map Packs so PC gets future VIP maps at the same time as consoles



The Balance tweaks are as followed:

Slightly increased the damage of the UZI at long range.
The AKs74u now has more felt recoil when aiming.
The G3, VSS, and all SemiAutomatic rifles now settle slightly faster between shots when aiming.
The PKM, Type 88LMG, G3, An94, and 40mm shotgun have returned to their former glory.
Increased the damage of the MG3 to bring it in line with the rest of the LMGs.
Fixed a bug where the Saiga12 with slugs would do too much damage at long range.
Fixed a bug where the SVU would do too little damage at long range.
Fixed a bug where M95 rounds would not kill armored targets with headshots.

The PS3 version was the same way until they launched Onslaught. I am willing to be they upgraded some of their servers when they launched onslaught even though onslaught does not use dedicated servers.

So has anyone spent much time with Onslaught yet? Me and my bro are really into the whole co-op experience and he really liked Bad Company 2 so I was wondering if this co-op mode is well done or not nearly good/fun enough to warrant the $10 tag.

Onslaught is good fun. I don't know if it's $10 good, but I had fun with two friends. Atacama Desert has an Appache, Isla Innocents has a Blackhawk which might be enough for some people to warrant the pricetag. On hardcore it's crazy hard though, we did it for Atacama Desert once and the Helo on the last stage kept owning us...

So are the missions very long? about how much gameplay time do you get if you complete a map on a medium to hard difficulty setting?

On normal I guess you could make it in 15-25 minutes with two other buddies. Hardcore is another beast, you have to figure out how to position yourself as new waves of enemies respawn. You'll need a medic to keep you alive, as soon as everyone dies it's over. It could take you hours to complete a single map. I haven't tried the hard setting.

Yeah I am curious about Onslaught too. Is it as good as horde modes in other games? I like the sound of taking hours to complete some of the maps with friends

lol, if you mean it... but really it's more like hours of frustration. On hardcore a tank will hit you halfway across Atacama Desert every single time and you're not even going to see where he's firing from. Also flying a helo is frustrating as hell. Every second about 5-10 grenades/tank shells and RPGs are flying your way. Enemies keep respawning constantly, too and the patterns never change.

As I said, it's good fun the first time through, and certainly interesting for everyone who wants to practice his flying skills. But I'm not sure this is worth $10.

Now that the PC patch is out we have updated stats for the weapons:

-AN-94 got a long rage nerf, I really felt that way after using it with an ACOG before knowing it was nerfed. I always prefered the M16 anyway...
-MG3 is a beast now. My friend I'm always playing with noticed that. And the stats reflect it now. The go-to medic weapon now.
-T88 got nerfed to death, also verified by my friend, he doesn't use it any more.
-G3 recovers more spread per second (just like the VSS). It felt great since the patch, I've been using it ever since on Assault kits.

Weird.. the patch notes suggested they buffed the AN-94. The gun still rules anyway.

The inflationary use of the word "overpowered" is getting on my nerves. It just happens to be the best medic gun, a freaking AEK outperforms it easily on damage, at any range.
