Building a MEGAR PC!!! 2016 edition

So, gonna build a new PC, and just looking for thoughts input, suggestions etc. First off, what I'll be doing: Primarily gaming and a side of video editing for a youtube channel my friend and I are building. I don't really plan on getting into 4k yet, I've got a 27in 1080P monitor and gets the job done quite nicely for me.

MOBO: Asus Z170-A
PSU: EVGA Supernova 750w Gold
Processor: I-7 6700K
Heatsink: Noctua NH D-15
Memory: Corsaire Vengeance LPX DDR4 (16gb @3200mhz)
GPU: Nvidia GTX 970 Gigabyte G1 Gaming
SSD: Samsun 850 EVO (500gb)
HDD: WD Black 1 TB 7200rmp
Case: Coolermaster HAF 912

That build is setting me back about $1400 usd. My only gripe with it is that between the coolermaster case and that noctua heatsink...its a noisy beast of a machine...any suggestions on how to quiet it up, but still be able to OC ?

You could get a closed loop water cooler instead.

I still use one.. but I am done with bulky coolers. No more.

I love my Cooler Master. I have the HAF 932 with the black interior. It is the best case I've owned.. hands down!

I don't have any first hand experience with them but Corsair's coolers are pretty popular.

I'm just sick of tower coolers. If the Noctua provides ample clearance for your DIMM slots etc. then it'll probably be fine tbh. I realize that noise is a concern but the loudest fans in my case is my GPU when it ramps up to load. And Maxwell is so efficient that some cards disable the fans all together when the card is idle.

Yeah, I mostly think it's that HAF 912. There's some versions of it that have noise dampening panels you can put on for when you're not gaming, but, that too seems like a pain : / The new ram is low profile, so, it SHOULD fit under the noctua...but dizzam that thing is just big...but you cant beat it's performance that's for sure. Have you been running Win10? I've got my free upgrade from Win7, just been hesitant to do it.

I use the Corsair H100i GTX and its treated me very well. Lots of room for overclocking. I don't see the point in going air cooling now that closed loop water coolers are so simple to install and relatively cheap.

I've read good things about it, but I'd also heard (har har har) is that it's hella loud.

Hasn't been an issue for me. The pump noise was weird at first but i dont even notice it anymore
