Loakum Ugh….scratch that previous comment. The upcoming Game of Thrones video game is a F’in mobile phone game. Why can’t they came an open world GoT game, like Witcher 3 or God of War? (> 3 Months ago)
Loakum By FAR, the upcoming Game of Thrones King’s Road was the Game of the Show! It plays like God of War Ragnarok! :) (> 3 Months ago)

Since 7104 DaysIt was very short, but awesome! It allowed me to get small glimpse of the gameplay graphics etc. I really liked the combat feels like GOW, but not that much it feels like a rip off like (Dantes Inferno). I'm sure it will stand out on it's own.
Graphically, just wow. It looks great, great atmosphere, great art, so good. The music is awesome, as the voice work! Patrick Stewart <3
Based on the videos, i was already sold, demo just gave me a little push! Will be buying this for sure, most likely for PS3, to even things out, since i get most multiplatforms games on 360 :P

Since 7444 Days
Since 7444 DaysA reboot for the franchise that throws away everything you expect in a Castlevania game and cherry picks features from other popular titles.
8.5 Graphics
A beautiful, richly detailed world that suffers just a bit from drops in framerate.
7.5 Sound
The orchestral soundtrack is exciting and reminiscent of The Lord of the Rings. Great voice actors are here, but their dialogue is melodramatic.
7.5 Gameplay
Combat becomes repetitive, but the quiet moments of puzzling and platforming in between are a lot of fun.
8.0 Lasting Appeal
This is a giantic game with lots of replay value.
Since 6285 DaysFROM THE DARKNESS I DRAW MY STRENGTH!!
Since 7437 Days** Yes We CAN!! **
Since 6981 Daysi dunno, the demo didnt do much for me, in the same way the enslaved demo didnt. but at least castlevania seems to run at an acceptible framerate most of the time.
i'll rent it, but that's hardly saying much since i rent everything.
Since 6285 DaysAnd you see where IGN is coming from because you played the demo?
Cant take you seriously.
FROM THE DARKNESS I DRAW MY STRENGTH!!
Since 7444 DaysI am not taking you seriously anymore, this particular post is just cringe worthy of "wtf are on about".
Music is out of place and cheesy? Sure as hell beats 90-95%% of all music from GOW combined.
I am a guy who listens to orchestral music everyday, and I can tell you that these type of phenomenal scores are hard to find unless some big shot movie like LOTR comes around.
Another one is LAIR by John Debney.
Combat feels like GOW but less fluidity? GOW combat is weightless and hit detection is horrible.
The voice acting in GOW is very bad!
Felt like watching the tv series of Xena or Hercules, that bad.
And you got ALL that just by playing the tutorial with one move unlockable? Thanks but your impressions is no longer needed :P
Since 6909 DaysSeriously though...
- The only criticism they give for the graphics are the 'occasional' frame-rate dips, and yet they score it at an 8.5?
- They rightly praise the musical score and voice acting, but give it a 7.5 for being melodramatic?! That is laughable!
- Gigantic game with a lot of replay value apparently, which still only deserves an 8.0 in that regard.
- Of course, we all know where that 7.5 comes from: it's too similar to other games, wah wah wah.
Now, if this was a hyped up release a la GoW III...
- Presentation: Well, it's the same old recycled gameplay from the past two games, so we'll give it a whopping 11.0!
- Graphics: Beautiful scenery and characters, occasional frame-rate dip... 12.0!
- Sound: Decent score... Kratos sounds like a constipated crack addict... 19.0!
- Gameplay: No description needed... 48.0!
- Lasting appeal: You'll complete it fairly quickly, but will probably want to play it again a couple of times... 90.0!
- Overall: 9.5, because we don't want to upset anybody! THIS IS NOT AN AVERAGE ETC. ETC.
So, err, yeah... joke.

Since 7444 DaysIf you noticed, GT, Gamespot, IGN...non of them has had ads for Castlevania on their sites, but GOW3, GTA, COD, Metroid Other M, Halo...etc. has and look at the scores they have been given.
Even Eurogamer that hasent had one ad on the game has given it a good review.
But you know, Gameinformer, OXM, OPM, EDGE...etc. they all given it 8s and 9s and 90% type of scores, you would think these magazines would have the same opinion as GT, Gamespot and IGN if it is so bad, even mention the same issues, but they dont.
Since 6981 Daysand yes, i can get all that from a demo, since, you know, everything i mentioned was in the demo. what are you basing YOUR glowing opinions on? since you, yourself havnt played the game either? see, the argument works both ways. we both know enough about the game to be able to come up with out own opinions.
the combat IS a less fluid version of GOW, animation transitions are almost non-existant, it's very much a case of "do a move. STOP. do another move. STOP" whatever you're issues with GOW are, the flow of combat is at least smooth, not a jarring mess.
the music IS OTT and out of place. we all know you're bizzare man-love for orchestral scores, and the score itself does seem relatively good, but it seems out of place at the same time. the horse section in particular was quite possibly the most boring thing i've ever played in my life...and yet the music would have you believe you where taking part in the most epic boss battle to the death. that's taking good music, and using it in all the wrong ways. sorry if that hurts your feelings.
as for the voice acting, seriously, listen to patric stewarts narration. he doesnt give a shit just like most "celebs" who do voice work, but when you have THAT script to work with, it's hardly surprising. you mentioned xena and hercules, and yeah, that pretty much sums up castlevania to a tee. melodramatic BS with shoddy performances and script.
but alas, my OPINION is neither here nor there. i'm sure you'd make yourself think it was the best game ever even if it wasnt. it's hardly worth arguing now is it?
Since 5934 DaysI have mixed feeling about this game but I was expecting this. Little bothered about platforming though as GT was complaining about it. They said combat is good and I thought it is other way round lol.
Since 7444 DaysIts 3 against like what 5-6 great onces?
Sure we are delusional of thinking that way.
Most of the comments I read in various forums are saying the same thing me and Raptor is saying, and some of them arent even as hyped as us.
I know hell of alot more about the game than you do which is obvious, and I am basing my opinions on every video out there and even interviews, even the leaked first 30 minutes of the game, the demo I played 10 times which I just can't stop playing it.
Also, I rather have great music all the time than have a few good ones on memoriable places and mostly forgettable nonsense just for the sake of "staying in place" that I wont even bother.
Also nothing is bizzare to love orchestral scores, you would be surprised how many guys/girls out there that is exactly like me, even worse.
I would want to see how much defensive you would become if the samething happened to GOW3.
The animation for the combat is very good in this game, that stuttering, I do agree, I dont know whats that about, obviously it looks to be on purpose, dont know if it has a later on purpose or just bad decision.
But after playing the demo and getting used to it, I dont pay attention to it at all, its rare that it happens.
Atleast the attacks are punchy and hit detection is great.
And dont insult me by calling me blind because I am hyped for it.
I was hyped for NG2, THAT was me being blind of my fanboysm but after playing it...well, lets just say I died inside as a NG fan.
But even if I am hyped for a game alot I will honestly say what is wrong with it, but you dont seem to know how that works.
I noticed quite a few bad gameplay decisions in GOW3 and yet you didnt, maybe your PS3 exclusive title fanboysm blinded you?
Take a look...
Castlevania is going to offer 20+ of gameplay of great story and art design, including fantastic music and famous VAs being in there, with a good working combat.
GOW3 offered a rehash of GOW titles but with prettier graphics and bigger scale, with around 6-7 hours of gameplay and thats that.
Sure I give kudos for them adding Combat Arena but thats it.
Even the DLC outfits you could use was BS because it disabled the trophies. You couldnt skip some of the cutscenes that you didnt want to see.
Some platforming was horrible and just uneeded to drag the game longer for the sake of the game have a longer span of gameplay.
The music is forgettable 90% of it except the main boss fights.
The VA is a joke to no end, and Kratos is the same douche that even I want to kill rather than play as.
See, I can nitpick as well, but hey its my opinion.
Since 7562 DaysI was hyped for NG2, THAT was me being blind of my fanboysm but after playing it...well, lets just say I died inside as a NG fan.
And even though I haven't said anything about the game, I wouldn't be surprised if either of you attacked me with a barrage of reasons why the game will be the "best evar!!1!"(since Vanquish/Bayo/NG2/etc...).
Zapp Brannigan: If we can hit that bull's eye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards...Checkmate.

FROM THE DARKNESS I DRAW MY STRENGTH!!
Since 6749 DaysI hope they will include more classic Castlevania tunes, just like music in the beginning of 11 minutes trailer.
Castlevania without:
Vampire Killer
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FaVM9MUp-lc&feature...
Bloody Tears
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yoQex8CB9eA&feature...
Beginning
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WYunQCkW8HQ&feature...
won't be a true Castlevania.
For me it is another must buy.
Apocalypse
Since 7444 DaysIf I was like that then, without the letter from father or other classic tunes from Ninja Gaiden NES on the new Ninja Gaiden then it isnt a true Ninja Gaiden.
With a mentality like that, you wont be enjoying the game.
Trust me, I would love to hear Vampire Killer orchestrated properly in this game, it would be a shame if it wasent, but its not something it HAS to be in it for it to be a true Castlevania game.
But I am wishing so much it is in it!
In the end of the 11 minute trailer they added Belmont's theme but orchestrated.
Besides, the game supports custom music, even on PS3, so you can pick your favorite versions of your classic CV tunes and have a playlist when you play :)
