I'm not sure how I feel about this yet. The gameplay is pretty solid but it seems a bit.. simple? I like the ability to respec at will, everything from skills and runs to crafting seems really quite "streamlined." As in dumbed down.

But on the other hand, there's a lot here I like.

I think the ability system is just boring. You eventually get all the skills. No stat points means you can't be creative with classes or try something weird. It's also stupid how they lock the use of quick keys. Must be level something to use button 3.

Why does the game still have item identifying when there is no scrolls? Instead you just get some progress bar right clicking the item that lasts couple second.

I also don't like the checkpoint system at all. You couldn't run when the bigger map was open.

Game also performs really weirdly. Game looks so dated yet kills the framerate quite easily. LAG is horrible (700ms) when I played in closed beta.

Oh and where did the runewords disappear? Maybe something for expansion...

Then the price... yea right I'll get it when it's patched and costs 50% of the asked price. Maybe they already patched some things?

Real money auction house for game that costs 60€?

There is probably more but that's all I can remember now. There was something cool too but whatever.

I really enjoyed my barbarian playthough.

One of the negative things that stood out for me was the graphics. It was such a mixed experience with e.g. the crater lighting looking great but then there was the flat lighting like shadows, everything just got this grey tint to it. Very low res textures and player models. Graphics aren't everything but it's still a shame it doesn't look better, grittier, darker imo because that would increase the sense of dread.

I should probably try Path of Exile.

i have only seen a few screens and a couple of vids, i can wait a bit longer for the finished product.

i wanted this for so long, i refuse to look at anything i saw the original announcement website that was it, hype destroys most franchises i love, i want to walk into this knowing little.

i try to do this for many of the games i love but usually i fail (halo 4 uncharted 3)

i find i enjoy games more if i go into them knowing very little.

Amen to that. I didnt read a single preview or beta review of D3. Spend milion of hours playing d1 and d2 and want to check d3 myself but somehow I feel it wont be THAT experience Im waiting for. Will check it asap tho ;p

I just don't understand what difference it makes if you experience the first 13 levels and first half of act 1 today, or two weeks from now. It's not like Blizzard has even given us enough content to get burnt out on. Not even close. Then again, I'm not sure Diablo 3 has enough content to get burnt out on ;)

in two weeks from now i get to go out, buy the game and get to play it all day with friends :)

its in the same vain of vs modes i prefer the experience of having people round my house drinking beer eating junk and having lan sessions, same as retro games, i would rather play my playstation game on my playstation 1, my snes on actual snes

i treasure not just the game but the experience around that game

Would i watch iron maiden live dvd before going to watch them live? fuck no.

i understand how people would not understand this, and i understand on why they would rather join the beta and rape the shit out of every char up till level 13 you say?

on the morning of launch surprise my little boy by saying he is not going to school that day, walking to town with him, surprising him on the launch of said game buying it him along with a few little big planet figures, taking him to lunch for burger and muffins, going back home and hammering the fuck out of the game on split screen on full blast on a 1200watt amp (neighbours were at work) drinking pop and eating sweets

i know what i chose i chose the experience, and it was fucking awesome.

I feel really torn if I will buy D3 full price. I'm not a huge fan of the genre (although I enjoy it) and didn't play the previous games that much. Just at friends a looooooong time ago. Feels like I will wait and buy it at a reduced price but the hype is strong in this one and it might get to me.

I wasn't a big player of the Diablo series, and have always been on the fence with dungeon crawlers. Some good, some bad. But, after testing this, I have to say that I'm not sure what the game has going for it. It's all streamlined and completely idiot-friendly. Nothing is customizable to the extent where it would eliminate min/maxing as they previous stated. The character designs and skills seem uninspired. And I'm not sure where the appeal will be frankly. As a game, as a dungeon crawler... I don't think it has 50% of the elements required to be in that genre.
The sound design is as always fantastic though. But, put it on mute...

The graphics horse has already been beaten to death, but I can't understand how it can still be tearing and framey with such low-poly mesh. I can look past all that if the gameplay is there, but it isn't-- At least at these low-levels... so what am I missing guys?

About the tearing, you are missing to activate the V-sync.

Yea, no tearing here.. mine locked @ 120fps instead of 60 for some reason (60hz, weird).

I mostly agree with the complaints though. I'm just not really feeling it. I do think the gameplay is fun though, so I can at least disagree with that. I think it will be a fun campaign, but the beta makes it seem lighter than a cheap-o clone of Diablo 1. That's not a good sign at all. It makes me think Torchlight 2 isn't as doomed as I had original expected. I know I'm back into Torchlight hype mode.

The game is growing on me, finding yellow items and creating cool items (some badass horned helmet) makes me excited. And I haven't even tried co-op yet. I'm sort of glad I don't have a huge experience of the previous installments because a lot ppl that have that seems to be so dissapointed. Ignorance is bliss. :)

Trying to max lvl my barbarian, then play some monk.

Yea.. gonna try another class tonight. I actually do enjoy the gameplay and loot hunting is always fun.. but it's hard not to feel a bit disappointed imo.

Just wasted 4000 on lvl up the Blacksmith only to realise that all the new items for that upgrade are locked for lvl 15. Shazbot!
