There is a church, Abbott Church where you take a quest called the Ritual Quest. If you leave said church before the NPC stops talking, you can't continue to listen to this NPC. This results in making it impossible to progress in the story and ruins your character you built over time making you start over.
This didn't happen to me, but the internets are being flooded by this complaint.
If you leave any NPC before they finish talking to take on a quest, you won't actually have the quest until they're done. You return to the NPC so they finish
Honestly, the more I hear about it, the worst it gets. No matter how good a game is, if it isn't technically up to par...........well. Anyways, this is very unfortunate.
Mods, stop changing my SIG! I'm going to end up banning you!
Anyhow, i'm super stoked. Going to pick my copy up soon, like in 30 minutes.

Prepare To Drop!!
I've played this game now for 2 days straight and I love it and it had some great moments (I haven't finished the story yet, mind u, but I will)
BUT despite the good time I had with it I can still clearly see it's flaws:
1. It seems that Lionhead went for the quantity over quality in terms of game mechanics... There's a lot of fun stuff to do but it's extremely shallow....
Example's:
I will put a spoiler tag around it, it's not a story spoiler, more so a gameplay spoiler:
- I joined the cult of shadows and apart from sacrificing people and getting an quest to kill the whole village of Oakfield, there's nothing to do. And while the quest it self was really funny (I walked around with a big butcher knife, a cleaver, and sneaked around to people's houses and kicked the door in and slaughtered them), I hoped they the quest would have a big impact on the world. Instead everyone just keep telling me I'm bad because I did that). And 1 day after the quest every NPC is back again and I even got a 12.750 gold fine or workpenalty.
- Marriage and getting a child is shallow at best.
- Enemies are posted on the same spots every frickin' time. It get's boring. Although I have to be honest I really like the combat-mechanic in the game...
- The whole: U can get fat and thin thing goes way too fast IMO, eating 4 or 5 items that have fat in them will already give you a potbelly....
2. The dog is just a gimmick so far and although in the beginning I really liked him, after a while u see that there's not much too him. I remember PM bragging that it was the best AI they ever made.. Well considering the dog is shallow as FUCK I find that hard to believe. Also most of the time I find treasure's faster than he does. (Except the dig sites ofcourse)
Although I really enjoy this game, I think the reviewers should have rewarded this game with a 7.5 MAX....
That said I do enjoy the humour in the game especially the comments and taunts of the gargoyles are hilarious...
"Let me explain something to you. Um, I am not "Mr. Lebowski". You're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me. You know, that or, uh, His Dudeness, or uh, Duder, or El Duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing. "

I am watching YOU.
The game has got a lot of problems and I think a couple of month's extra would've made the game much better.. BUT it's ton's on fun and you can almost forgive em for every single mistake they made....

It makes buying your towns and other locations way too simple.
I was also excited for the family aspect, in fact it was what I looked forward to most. My child not getting as old as I am was a huge letdown. You can have sex with just about anyone, big deal though on that one.
You can only get married to one person. I wanted to have kids from multiple people and watch them grow, but again that was a let down too. You can only get engaged to people after you are initially wed. Maybe so as not to offend religious types?
I think this game needed more than a couple months. It needed a couple more years. This is NOT a game for hardcore gamers
I really liked the first one and was excited for this sequel.

It's kind of funny though, getting 250 golds for splitting one log. Them peasants in Albion must be LOADED.

Also mana came in levels, you didn't have an infinite amount of it

Strange memories on this nervous night in Las Vegas. Has it been five years? Six? It seems like a lifetime.
played a good 20 or so hours so far and still havnt finished the story. i get wrapped up in the property market and side quests, plus exploration. the only few things that im not liking is the general lack of reward for going off the beaten track. yes there are hitten dig treasure and chests, but they almost ALL contain some sort of potion or gold. i would have liked more weapons and clothing cos i found an assassins shirt in the first 10 mintues of the game, and then havnt found anything since really except the odd hat.
other then that tho, exploration is pretty nice. and you get a good sense that you've explored an area fully since its not completely open world. saying that however, i still think each area should have been stitched together via a streaming engine, cos these 30 second load times are rediculous. although i guess the world would feel incredibly small if that was done.
oh and as nice as the world is, it lacks something. i just fast travel everywhere now since there really isnt any reason to run there. a couple hobbe and bandit fights doesnt seem worth the journey on foot.
oh, one other negative is the menu, becasue they use 3D models for all items it slows it down to a crawl. especially if you have a lot of items.
games great tho despite these issues. one button combat works surprisingly well as does the lack of mana. graphics are nice, if not amazing. and gameplay rocks. it kinda feels like a bit of a fable 1.5 in the sense this feels like what fable 1 SHOULd have been from the start. but im glad i bought it and thats all i really care about.
That said, there still seems to be something missing, maybe its a reward thing but it feels like everything could have been expanded upon quite easily, like cloths and whatever, theres only a few types of clothing but theres not enough to satisfy.
I think thats maybe what it is, there isnt enough depth or difficulty in there to make it a truly great game, and then theres the bugs that make you wary at all times.
I just hope they can and will iron out the issues that exist with a patch and a quick one aswell, theres no point patching a game 2 months after its released cause people wont go back to it.
I managed to fix my save game, and this is how i did it. After restarting the console (just quitting and reloading wasn't enough) i could walk again if i pressed the left trigger, so with that i walked back and did the quest and after that i could walk again.

Anyone know of anyway to fix the inanimate child bug? My kid is no longer interactive and just stands there staring blankly at my house.
